I've just been reading a post and in it someone mentioned Chorlton and the Wheelies .... I used to love that TV show. Now that I often have to put up with kids TV, I think that it is just nothing compared to TV when I was growing up. I mean Boobah and in the night garden ... ffs!!! Although Peppa Pig can be quite funny .... OMG how sad am I?!?!?!?
I also loved the Flumps!!! Oh and Phillip Schofied with Gordon the Gopher in the broom cupboard ...ppphhhhwwaaarrr .... loved him ....(Phillip not Gordon!!)
What was your favourite TV shows as a kid)???
Kojak
oh, kids programmes.... Clangers.
lp
The Banana Splits biggrin
The best part is, all those of a certain age will now have the theme tune in their heads for at least another hour
Mr Ben of course.
Bagpuss - the original not the cartoon version ffs.
Vision On.
All originals - not warmed up rehashes of stuff that used to be good and has now had all the goodness sucked out of it by the 'let's not offend anyone - even if they wouldn't be offended anyway' brigade.
In edit:
Oo oo oo - Jackanory. Real stories with REAL plots; read (often) by trained actors who can bring it alive. Or The Tales of Littlenose read by the author - 15 minutes of heaven 5 days a week.
oh yes! Vision On
lp

I was and am a huge Bagpuss and Flumps fan. I have all of Bagpuss on DVD and some Flumps on video.
Ive got two little ones and although I feel kids TV has changed its not all bad. I tend to stay away from what I call the junkie stuff i.e. anything like Spongebob square pants evil However some kids TV today has a bit of charm, Maggie and the ferocious beast, Waybuloo, Bits and Bobs biggrin Quite often watched whilst eating tea redface
Tom & Jerry - still makes me giggle :giggle:
Bagpuss
Catweazle
The Clangers
The Singing Ringing Tree ( scared the crap out of me when I was 6! :scared: )
Trumpton
Captain Scarlett
Daktari
Magic Roundabout

No it wasn't. The Banana Splits theme was written for the show that ran between 1968 and 1970. The Dickies did a cover version of it in 1978. The band members would've been kids themselves when the show first aired.
Chorlton and the Wheelies is my ringtone on my phone! :giggle:

Totally stuck in my head now mad lol
I always thought David Seaman would be the ideal choice to do Chorlton's voice in any remake. Fenella was the Witch who shared an uncanny resemblance to Edwina Currie I felt.
Do you remember Button Moon? How crap was that? Made for 10p with a black blanket and any old shite they could turf out of the back of the old art cupboard. "Oh look, here comes Mr Pre-decimilisation 2 shilling piece and his friend little Miss bent paper clip". Fingerbobs was the same. Rolled up paper mice... it's no wonder we turned out like we are and are busy fucking each other...
Bagpuss was like a bad trip on mushrooms. Talking woodpeckers and singing mice.. Just showing episodes of that would be better than any anti-drug campaign. "And Bagpuss became a big floppy, fluffy old cat. Misshapen and baggy..." I wonder where the influence for that came from. A badly stuffed pussy. I wonder.
