this thought branches off in 3 was so excuse my ramble..
sperm doners.. noooo not like that rolleyes i was listening to the radio and it was pointing out the drop in sperm donation since it is no longer anonoymous.
this lead me to thinking could i really ever consider searching out sperm donation? now i know some people feel it is the only soultion for several reasons if they want a child,
but then i thought about what if habits and manerisums are hereditory, im quite picky about these things, i hate chammers ( eating with mouth open) liers, people who fidget, i know these may be considered to be based on how we are raised, not to do the above etc, but i cant put into words how some peoples manarisums really bug me.
so i thought omg you really dont know anything about the sprem doner what if the child was like its father, ... and if you actually had ever met the father in person you would think what a knob head he was..
then i realised how shallow i am,..ok now i cant for some stupid reason see anything that i am typing.
So would you ever consider a sperm doner? would you ever consider being a sperm doner,Am i reLLY PICKY AND SHALLOW? ( YOU DONT HAVE TO REPLY TO THAT ONE LOL)
shoud this be in teh curent affairs considering the whole ramble is based on a radio piece i heard today?

You have a valid point. My thoughts would be along the lines of what medical/genetic hostory would I (as a parent) be taking on.
My dad died after 3 heart attacks, my mum has severe arthritis among other things. I have a heads up about possible future health concerns and I can take appropriate action. If I knew nothing about one side of my family I would be at a disadvantage.
But on the positive side, maybe you would get a tall, handsome, well-balanced sperm donor with a penchant for music and making money who loved his mother. biggrin
Thinks - - - - In which case, I'd want the donation to be in person. :D:D:D:D:D:D
Pedant rolleyes
:lol2:
No seriously though, if you take your argument to the Nth degree, surely we would by now, taking into account the history of mankind, all look, sound, behave, talk .....etc. the same way?
I do have a problem with your argument in as much as its far more likely for a child to take on the mannerisms / habits of the person / persons that it grows up with, than any hereditary traits.
I have 3 sons, aged 16, 22, and 29. All 3 of them are like chalk and cheese (apart from looks, all three take after their dad and are devilish handsome :rascal: )
But you could not find three blokes soooo poles apart in their habits mannerisms or health status.
On a serious note, if we are to believe in the whole DNA / Genetic / Darwinian follow on thing, surely we would all be like automatons by now , all looking, behaving and having the same genetic illnesses that would have wiped out the entire species?
dunno not an opinion, just a thought.
Adversely, in this day and age, does anyone actually care? Is it not enough anymore just to hope that your new born child is whole, healthy and happy, without the added trauma of not actually being perfect?
In a world filled with hatred, death and constant destruction, the very thought of bringing a new life into being fills me with dread to be honest.
IMHO
