Morning Chaps
Hope we are all well.
I'm sure everyone is familiar with the phrase 'Those that can do, those that cant teach'
Well I would like to pose a topic for debate
'Those that will swing, those that wont munch'
Discuss.... wink
What about me, im a swinging muncher?!
lol
And I'm a munching swinger... :silly:
Pah,
Beat a swunging mincher then......
All of the above is fun - however not getting the usual intelligent and informed opinion that I have come to know and respect from this site.
Does nobody have a 'real' view on this topic.
what about a
muggling swincher?
what about a
muggling swincher

This must be OT , post in a Harry Potter forum

Little offensive (given the context the phrase is in) but accurate I suppose.

Hi there Easy
I think you misunderstand me - there is no offence intended.
Its a topic to evoke opinions and create discussion.

No I'm not saying that and Yes I am quite sure that you are absolutley right there are those that do both.
However
'Those that will swing, those that wont munch, and those that will do both will swing and munch'
Doesnt have quite the same effect when it comes to generating a discussion! biggrin
in my opinion... most swingers are happy to go to munches.. but you cant say MOST munchesr are happy to swing.... a lot of people DO come her for the social side, and attending a munch is i guess the natural progression.
i have to say that if i decided to give up swinging.. i would most definately still munch.

 S'ok. Just that the original phrase (those that can, do. Those that can't, teach) is derogatory to my mind, so linking it with "Those that can, swing. Those that can't, munch." gives it the same meaning.
Just seemed a little judgemental that's all. As those that swing are somehow better than those that only Munch.
Just me reading it the wrong way I suppose.
There's always one that takes it the wrong way isn't there? rolleyes lol

Speaking as a former teacher, I have to say there may be some truth in it. biggrin
Anyway, I don't think it means those that teach, can't. wink

Yeah, I would be inclined to agree with you, it is slightly derogatory - however that doesnt mean that I intended offence.
What I intended was to be a little inflamatory, to stir up some emotions and create a debate.
Which I think it has!! wink
ps Ice Pie - what did you teach??

Engineering type stuff to adults. Vocational as opposed to academic, but I guess the principles are the same.

Cool.
So back to the Swing/Munch debate.
I think (and I am speaking with Ltd experience here) that I would be inclined to agree with WBB's earlier comment
'in my opinion... most swingers are happy to go to munches.. but you cant say MOST munchers are happy to swing.... a lot of people DO come her for the social side, and attending a munch is i guess the natural progression.

Personally I would attend a munch - as long as there were no swinging planned that Weekend!! wink
Dont think I'd attend munches though if I had given up swinging (not that I intend to!) as I dont really see the point in hanging out and talking about something that I'm not going to do.

Well, let me just say that the Munches themselves are purely social get-togethers, not swinging meets, and I talked to hell of a lot of people about a hell of a lot of things, had a laugh, got drunk, sang a few songs. It really is just a big party, and if a stranger walked in they'd think it was someone's birthday. Swinging and Munches really are totally separate things. Some people do one or the other, and some people do both, but not at the same time.
Go on... you know you want to. biggrin
Ice

Here here, munches are great, but as happily married to non swinger (maybe one day) I here to watch and be sociable (I allowed to watch apparently)...
Did my first munch with the great Heather in Croyden, and loved every minute of it (Bar getting lost on M25)...
So your statements hold true, do munch, don't swing (except to watch) ... and somehow have now ended up trying to organise a munch. Whatever you do never volunteer...
I'm a wannabe muncher - does that count?

If you put your cursor over this emoticon :jagsatwork: :jagsatwork: you'll see it's named after me... but I'm not offended. Saddened perhaps given the amount of tme and effort and dedication I put into my job in a comprehensive school when I could earn three times the amount working in a university teaching undergraduates, which I am also qualified to do.
HOWEVER biggrin :D onward and upward on your thread - I shall abstain from comment redface though I was very impressed with Ice Pie's Swunging Minger... thanks!
Being a teacher, I've got to be an expert on this!
I think we ought to extend the original idea.
Those that can do, those that can't teach, and those that can't teach, teach others to teach!
Ouch!!
Hmmm... I noticing a trend here.
Lots of teachers.
Wonder if thats pure coincidence of if theres an underlying cause.
Any thoughts?
ps Hiya Jags, hope all is well with you.
I'm beginning to notice the same trend.
Teachers writing in a thread about teachers! It's probably because of the ridiculously long holidays they get, nothing better to do! And we know they only work half a day. And it's their fault that kids can't read. If they did the job properly instead of of spending all their time drinking coffee in the staff room then....
OOPS, sorry got a bit carried away there.
I think somebody ought to give me a detention for that!
Is it the summer holidays yet??
That could be a reason why there are more teachers on here.
It could be a stress thing - teachers either use sex (or the concept of potential sex) as a stress buster.
It could be due to being constantly surrounded by highly charged hormonal adolescents (is that spelt correctly?)
ps It isnt a thread about teachers - its about munching v swinging. It just happend to migrate into the 'teacher' thing.
Sorry SC.
I know it isn't a thread about teachers but how many other threads stay on track.
It is the summer holidays (WOOO HOOO) and we are enjoying them and hoping to relieve a bit of stress on here.
I'm interested in what 'potential' sex is! I don't want to change tack again, but has anybody any ideas. i would have thought that people who have potential sex are called wankers. If that's the case I've had potential sex.
Is it like the phrase 'I had sex nearly every day last week'
I nearly had sex on Sunday, nearly had sex on Monday, nearly had sex....

You'll get to one soon enough.
Even if I have to carry you there. biggrin
