As a particular milestone of my journey, I thought it appropriate just to stop awhile and reflect.
I have enjoyed myself here, amongst friends and yes, a hell of a lot of friends. All ages, sexes, creeds and colours – but all still friends. I’ve seem some come and seen some go. I have more than I had at the beginning and hope to have many more before I leave.
This Site is like meeting your friends down the pub, only better.
They are here 24/7.
Very rarely drunk no matter how long they have been in.
Always friendly.
Able to lend a shoulder to cry on.
An ear to listen to your problems.
A smile and a hug to cheer you up when you are down and ready wit to make you laugh.
They are intelligent and knowledgeable, be it the techie stuff or day to day stuff or the plain unusual!
Nothing is really and we manage to have different points of views and deep discussions without major incidents.
These friends tend not to judge others, but listen to why they are the way they are and on the whole, accept them. They enlighten me to the ways of others. I have been shown that boundaries are there to be tested and stretched. I have done things I probably thought I never would and I now feel able to try something before dismissing it out of hand. I could only do these things with people I consider friends.
I hope that I continue to enjoy the company of these friends for a long time to come. I only hope I am as good a friend to them as they are to me. I won’t name names, it would be embarrassing if I missed one, but I’m sure you know who you are. You mean a lot to me and what you have given me.
And on top of that, we have a lot of fun here! I have thoroughly enjoyed the piss-taking, the stories, the mishaps, the ups, the downs, and the creativity of some people and despaired at the one-liners and impatient posters who expect a shag within the hour and think it’s not a genuine site if it doesn’t happen!! Believe me, as a single guy, it does happen!!!
What will happen in the future? More of the same, I hope! You are all truly, truly great people and I have the utmost respect for your views and achievements.
Thank you all for being you, because if you weren’t, I might never have had the pleasure of meeting you and enhancing my life so much.
