i really wanted to keep out of another timewaster thread as we feel its the most explosive topic on the swinging scene. we try to see other peoples points of view on most things but may i ask you what if they hadn't of rang or text you to say they not going to show? we all know sh*t happens (we've let 1 person down in maybe 1000 meets)would you still not consider them timewasters or is it the fact even though its minutes from the scheduled meet they contact you to cancel is ok by you?

I think if they just don't show up, they'd be timewasters. How much notice they give to cancel before a meet, without being deemed to be timewasters, is really up to the person whose time they wasted I suppose.

Indeed!
People, in my opinion, really only deserve the moniker of timewaster if they do not make any effort to contact you at all. Sure, the rest of it is down to personal opinion and the actual situation as to whether time has been wasted even after contact. But at least if people do call/text you know... the worst situ for me is one in which you get stood up with no explanation or apology.
It's rare that happens though.
i dont mind chatting to anyone for months / years etc just for chatting purposes but if that person has said he /she / they intend to meet us and it never comes to fruition and if theyve made arrangments to meet and fail to show then in our opinion theyve wasted our time,
for someone who maybe only meets 1 or 2 people off here a year then they wouldnt see it as a problem i'm guessing, however we have a large circle of friends who are more adventurous on here and try to meet lots of people on same day / night and when you go to trouble of getting house ready/ shipping kids out for the weekend and 8 out of 10 dont show thats when this discussion gets explosive.
not thought this through fully yet but just thinking aloud in past forums lots of peeps wanted to standardise terminlogy on here so we all know what what meant, especially for newcomers to understand etiquette etc but now were saying you decide what you want to call a t/w and i'll decide a different "formula" to decide if there t/w's or views?
