I was just writing a pm about my diet, and commenting that I'd like to get into the skin tight yellow trunks I used to wear wind surfing in Antibes (and elsewhere) in 1978. I have recovered them from several clear outs at home and hidden them away. One day they will fit again. mad
Do any of you hang on to the totally useless long after it fits or works, simply because it represents a memory of great times?
I don't mean letters and pics, the traditional keepsakes. What's in your loft?
Yes I keep my Willy for that self same reason
ahh the memories lol

Yep I have a fab pair of PVC shorts I wore in my raving days that I have a slim to no chance of ever getting back into (and slim just left the building lol )

Gotta admit I have a similar indulgence.

damm you beat me to that one, now I gotta think of something deep and meaning full sad
So you don't use it any more Warwick?
Is it because it doesn't fit or because it doesn't work? lol
Musketeer, my loft and every spare bit of space I have, is crammed with things that hold memories and I can't see me ever getting rid of anything. Will have to just keep moving to bigger and bigger houses!
My sister is emigrating to New Zealand in March and is currently in the process of sorting everything. They are only taking the normal baggage allowance for the flight, so they will be taking very few personal items with them, a fraction of their memories sad
Kind of sad, but as my husband said, they won't have any clutter when they move!

I still have my first denim "Rag" full of Status Quo patches, studs, skulls, etc, which I had when I was 12. Still very much into Quo but the Rag is just a bit small..... the patches will be worth a bob or two now too, I started seeing them when I was 7, in 1977....
It will stay with me til I die probably!
Rick. biggrin
Havn't got anything from my youth, but got a shed full of old electrical gear, if anyone wants a bit for a obsolete fuseboard, or old style mk grid I've probarly got one

Same age as me, you are then.
I have my first leather jacket, wish I still had the denim cut off that I used to wear over it, tho. Said jacket is never going to fit again, unless I get my tits lopped off in a freak accident, or something. And all the zips are broken anyway. And it stinks.

Hmmm do hubby's count? confused :? ........
Hipster bell bottoms that I wore back in 199... well, when i was a skinny wee thing but too young to appreciate it.
They're stashed away but everytime I do dig them out, I always try them on - just to see. I can' get them past my bluddy thunder thighs now though.
lol
Just remembering, I still have 2 pairs of brand new, un-worn lurex socks - The fluorescent green ones. Might wear them next week for my mate's birthday dinner, just to take the piss!
Rick biggrin
Two old T shirts. One faded blue the other faded black, so faded its turned light grey! Both falling apart at the seams. Both peppered with holes. Bought them in 1974 and cant get rid of them. They're so threadbare now they're almost like tissue. And I still wear the damn things but only as vests when I have a cold winter here near the Black Mountains. Wouldn't be seen dead in them!!!
A 1979 football shirt . Can't even pull it down over my shoulders .
An all blacks rugby shirt (which i have always wanted to own) which i bought about a year ago before i piled on the weight!
I keep hoping that i will fit into it!!
Beautiful Wallis off white silk coat size ten and all the clothes I made (suits etc) from the 80's   . One of these days I will get them out and try them on - well they looked good at the time I am sure rolleyes lol
Sorry, I'm not a hoarder. If it's not used within the past 6 months it no longer has a use so out with it! mad
I don't want to remember the past anyway. The only sadness I have is for the photos I no longer have of my eldest when he was still a baby. But the memories remain special and are in my head.

The long black crushed velvet Goth skirt that I very nearly gave to little gem to go with the black basque. I will use that skirt for the party as well. Cool eh? Judy

Great stuff Judy! You'll look nice in that. I was planning on wearing something rather smaller and more acessible for the party!
I have tons of stuff I keep hold of. I am a hoarder of the first order! lol If I think one day it might come in useful it stays. But then my excuse for that is I am an artist and one never knows what one might need for the experimentation in the next project. biggrin
West Ham hat that my Nan knitted for me when I was five.
Lb
A candy striped button down Ben Sherman , which would now probably fit around one arm . Token of the moonstomping halcyon days of Ska and Bluebeat , bought as an original from The Last Resort in Brick Lane. Only sad that the purple and orange tonic suit and the matching pork pie hat have long since dissapeared .
Not a hoarder here although I did scrap a load of skinny clothes that I'd hung onto recently. Including a pair of Size 8 white jeans  Heaven only knows when I was last a size 8 and more the point WHY dunno I kept them.
I also have the very first bikini that I wore .. no chance of ever fitting into it as it's my bikini from when I was about 6 months old   My mum has a pic of me sitting on the beach at Rhyl in it and I have the same pic taken of my daughter wearing it at the same age on Rhyl beach redface surprisedops:  (I know I know it's so sad ... but it's so sweet too lololol)

Been listening to a lot of Ska music in the last 10 days - I forgot how much I liked it - think I am gonna like it for quite a while ..............................I remember having a two tone coat cool . This house is still full of Ben Sherman but not mine - next generation smile .
I still have a hand-knitted fair-isle tank top, circa 1974.
Mike.
