I recently read that Tony Hart has given up art because of ill health.
This man filled my childhood with brilliance. I dreamt I could be an artist because of his inspiration.
Who can forget
VISION ON and TAKE HART.
The man is a genius if only inspiring several generations to stick pasta on to paper to make a picture
That's sad to hear. Tony Hart has inspired generations of kids over the years but of course, his health comes before anything.
Hope his retirement is a long and happy one
would that mean he has set Morph free to roam the streets?
oh my goodness!!!
the little blighter could turn up anywhere!
the Horror!

I believe morph burned to death in a fire while visiting Shaun the sheep. I'm sorry to break the news to you.
I also loved Tony Heart and the gallery and was inspired by him. For me art was the thing I was good at while at school and admired for, so he probably helped me through school to.
Luvya Tony x

Bah!

Did someone call?
Oh, I love Tony Hart and so do my kids an grandchildren - hope he has a good lengthy retirement.
How cruel that his hands won't work to do the artwork that he's loved and thereby the skills that he's communicated to miliions of kids over the years.
Perhaps Tony could explore other mediums using new technology, the artists way of seeing things is still there in his mind at least?
Beautiful interview in the Times Online today about Tony Hart.
The comments are full of people thanking him and wishing him the best and an interesting one wondering why he hasn't ever been listed in the honours!
Tony Hart OBE or MBE does sound nice (although I don't usually pay any attention to the honours system). There's a Facebook campaign worth subscribing too!!! (in edit - there is one smile )
I really cannot draw to save my life but loved watching Tony when I was a kid!
bloody nice bloke.
Good old Tony Hart.
"And we give a prize for all those we show..."
What was that woman's name... Kitty? Bunty? Something like that.
In edit - it was Pat, apparently - I knew it was something like Kitty or Bunty confused
The bloke is part of my viewing history - a very good part.

He didn't lick the commissar's boots or pay fortunes (like others) into the dying embers of Labour's administration...
The best he can expect is some mention in Ant & Dec's unsung heroes series in the next millennium which is a crying shame because, old or young, this man is a hero and has taught real skills to real people and has inspired people to action throughout his life. In real life, he is a gentle man in the correct sense of the word and I doubt you will ever hear a bad word spoken about him.
I wish him well in retirement.
