It is not just you , I have heard this before from really lovely girls . I have usualy been pleasently surprised when meeting a super nice looking girl that that they are just a normal person once you stop being dazzled by the appearence . As a female i feel that age, looks, sexual orientation shouldn't be a problem on this site, nobody is going to judge you in any way or form. their are many great people on this site looking for many different types of people, its not just about looks, its about who they may feel at ease with.
if you feel that you are judging yourself against others then you will never fully relax in the scene. we have met a number of people and there personalities are of the upmost importance to us, and not what they are wearing, or if she is over a size 12, or if she is of model standard.
we totally understand your need for privacy but at the same time we feel you should always be yourself and open to compliments and positive criticism. this will allow you to see where you may be going wrong!

indeed. one of the things that makes the site, and what little of the scene i've been involved with, is the fact that we're all different, and open to everyone else's differences i think. certainly size/age/orientation/conventional attractiveness doesn't really come into it at all. friends first, everything else inconsequential..........IMHO! ;-)
