Lucky you. I haven't. If you run a successful forum, you'll obviously know how much time is taken keeping it that way. That is why we don't always have the time to tell people why a post is locked. Quite often it is blindingly obvious and we STILL get someone asking the question, thus taking up more of our valuable time. There again, we get those who haven't bothered reading ANY rules, hints or tips, who post some crap and we have to use up MORE of our time dealing with it. Then we get those who make broad ranging comments directed specifically at the moderators, which might not hold up to scrutiny, but takes up MORE of our time to answer them.
I dealt with a query on Monday afternoon which has taken up my every waking moment since and makes any complaints about how we operate on here just so immaterial in the reality of life, I wonder why some people don't just go out and get one.

PS. I was a Mod on here when you joined, as was pretty much all of them.

The devil makes work for idle hands. Too much time on your hands can result in boredom, and the desire to generate some excitement and attention. Provocation is the easiest method of doing that. Anyone who has watched bored kids will agree! rolleyes

When I joined there were different moderators ... I have seen the way that the moderation has changed and hence I don't come on here much. Dealing with pointless power tripping was never my strong point ... I wonder if anyone else feels the same?

i don't think the moderating has changed at all? the site itself may have changed, and is much busier than it ever was, and get's busier by the day, so modding decisions are naturally more evident. as more and more completely pointless redundant topics go up, ever faster, more and more are seen to get locked. it's a simple equation really?

I believe I joined SH around the same time as you, and as far as I remember, there have been 2 new mods created since then. Both of whom are pretty 'quiet' in their actions.
Like everyone else has said, but in not so many words...
Why don't you just go away, but not as politely said, cos the Mods even look after those who don't want looking after!, then?
