Hover Mowers, aka Flymo's.
They don't hover and they don't f****ing fly either and I have just dragged mine over my huge front lawn and I'm k****red!!!!
Sorry - but I needed to say that!!
Any other total misnomers that drive you nuts?

Hate to disagree but I had a petrol driven flymo once that came with a job. Used it once on my garden it was dead fast smile

everything since has pailed in comparison. Worst bit was when I Left the company and gave the van back they saw the flymo and said, ohh didnt realise we had that mad

Hate to disagree but I had a petrol driven flymo once that came with a job. Used it once on my garden it was dead fast everything since has pailed in comparison. Worst bit was when I Left the company and gave the van back they saw the flymo and said, ohh didnt realise we had that

Mine is electric and cheap, so I got what I paid for - my ex took the petrol driven grass-beast that would pretty well drive itself round the lawn. :x

Just got in from last night - not what you're thinking, so I'm a bit dazed and may have miss read this.
Have you tried sharpening the blades? That may help.

TY for that idea, unfortunately they are plastic so not easy to sharpen. The main problem is my lawn's a bit lumpy so it digs in every time I push it, very frustrating. banghead

What I need is to arrange a meet with a guy with the right equipment and then make him do the mowing before we pleasure each other. Any volunteers? I do a fantastic back rub (you'll need it!!) lol

I'll come and do your lawn for you. And I'll not even need the pleasuring afterwards. Just make sure the kettle is never cold....lol

ive just upgraded from a flymo to a mountfield petrol best thing i ever did went down the tip with all the garden rubbish guess what...................... so did the flymo :giggle:
