This occurred to me recently as well.
And also, maybe a Mod could answer this........
if I sent a PM on Friday / Saturday when there was the server probs, is it likely it wouldn't have been received?

I was meaning more that the receipient deleted it from their folder without reading it. Would my Sent Mail folder list the mail as being read or unread? I'd read before that deleting an unread PM will not delete the recipient's copy.

that i'm not sure about..at a guess i would say it would still say unread....but no doubt someone will be along soon to tell you for certain....
What I don't like about pm's is that you can't go back into one you have sent (when its still unread by the recipient) and edit it or even delete it before they get it!
Does no-one else ever occassionally send a pm they either wish they hadn't or wish they had worded a bit differently and would like to have the choice of deleting or editing it before its read?
I'm sure we were able to do this in the past before the current owners took over.

Yes we could but this system is based more on a normal email package, such as Outlook Express.
Once you have sent an email, you can't edit or delete, its just gone :shock:
Hmmmm....not good if one is tipsy and in charge of a keyboard!

I too wish we could delete/edit the PM if it is marked as unread.
Also another little 'gripe' is that if you save your sent messages and some of them are marked unread, once you click save everything is marked as read. This includes received PM's aswell. You then have no idea what you have read and what you haven't.
