does anyone know if obama intends on pulling thier troops out of afganistan and iraq??

obama policy lesson no 1..... lol :lol: I am sure loads of questions will be asked.... if i can answer any then ask away...
Obama does want to pull troops out of Iraq.... would like then all out on a timetable by 2011.....
He is in favour at the moment of putting troops into afgahistan, as that is where the real war again al-quiada is at the moment....

the guns one is easier to answer... supports the 2nd amendments, the right to bear arms... but does also support a ban on automatic and semi automatic weapons, which clinton put in and bush let lapse....
the credit crunch.... supported the emergency ecomonic bill, also will cut the taxes of those earning less than $200,000 dollars, and also wants a 6 month freeze on house repocessions to give people a chance to rework packages.....

he does support the McCain's... however Bush is so unpopular (he last approval rating was around the 20% mark) that the McCain campaign are trying to distance themselves.....
Bush is Republican bouncy......
if you think of the Republicans like our conservatives, and the Democrats as our labour... that should make things easier...
also just so you don't get confused, the colours on the maps you'll see tonight are the opposite way round to here.....
Republicans=conservaties=red
Democrats=labour=blue
the Electoral College..... right.... oh boy..... where do i start...
Okay... there are 538 electoral votes..... each electoral vote is based on a percentage of the population.....therefore the states with the highest population get the most votes (california has the highest population and has 55 votes... montana has the smallest population and has 3 votes)
basically whoever gets the most votes in a state gets all the votes.... you only have to win by 1 vote
whoever gets to 270 first wins........
if it is a tie 269-269.... i'll save that for another question.... lol :lol:
What happens when its 269-269? :giggle:
Do they naked mud wrestle? or See who can drink the most in a short space of time? or do they have a omelette eating competition?
Fabio....time to chill out and have a drink you deserve it lol
My brain is aching from all the new infomation!

i knew i should not have left that hanging out there....
okay... if by some miracle tonight it was to end up being 269-269, then they would go to the house of representatives.... because at the moment it there are more democrats that republicans.... they would vote Barack Obama to be president
but.... and you know that there would be one of these coming.....
the vice president would be voted on by the senate... and because at the moment that is 50-50.... the current vice president gets the winning vote...
and since that would be dick chaney.... a republican... it would mean Sarah Palin would be vice president!!!
bet you wish you had not asked now...
beer beer... more beer... lol

well if you think about it... the UK do the same thing, but it is just who has the most constituances.....so it is the same principle....
okay.... the map is mostly red because the states in red don't have a lot of electorial votes attacted to them (the expection to that is texas.. which has 34 votes)
ty fabs your a hunny i promise i'll sit on my hands now :rose:
its mr b's fault he is on nights i'm sure he volunteered to escape my questions bolt
well fingers crossed for obama :cheers:

it is just the quirk of this particualar election....
there are other contests going on tonight... governors elections, elections for both houses in congress,
because the winner tonight doesn't really take charge till january 20th.... you'll find a lot of things go thru in the last stages... the interesting ones are presidential pardons... just in case anything naughty has taken place!! wink
just keep asking questions hun.... i'll be up till at least both speeches.. and i'll have me beers here.. lol
