Yeah! Right! - So the guy is panicking because you said "dont buy flowers" - he thinks it is a subtle reminder - he does not want to buy flowers because of the price - he buys them because he thinks he will be in less trouble for spending £30 than if he did not buy them - you get them and positively squeal with delight - he sighs with relief thinking he did the right thing - the following day he cannot take you out for a drink because he spent his last £30 on flowers and you now feel upset that he wasted the money - he feels guilty - deep down though you are glad he bought them! I have decided to push the boat out this year!! I am allowing Mrs Bilko to stay in, looking after the kids, while I watch the Manchester Derby at lunch time, then if she is really good, and I haven't had too much to drink, I will let her stay in looking after the kids again while I go out for a pint with the lads in the evening.(Wonder if I should buy her a card????)

Now you have me in a dilema, you mentioned shoes. Ok I'd prefer shoes to flowers or even undies. I know thats a bit corny but surely you should buy something that is going to make the female happy and that would work for me. But you have to get undies she can wear and not just some wild fantasy that turns you men on! As for a night out, I am out for valenties night but with a girlfriend who is lonely on her own. I will love Ian whatever the day is, my friend will feel grotty on her own and needs cheering up. (Sorry thats a bit sick )

Well, if you can work it the best bet is to agree with your loved one that you are not going to do the card and flowers thing - and then do it anyway (nice one, Tim! ). She will love the surprise, tell you that you are a naughty boy - and then smother you with kisses (at least, that's the theory - but what do I know? ). I am so impressed with Dawn_Mids I love to give underwear (well OK on the naughty side but comfortable to wear rather than the itchy £1 Sun offers).
