Firstly, do you bother? Is it the usual, card, choccie, flowers, underwear? Does anyone else think that the gifts available for guys are very poor? I ask because I'm struggling with what else to get denboy...... well ive never had anyone to buy a valentine gift before so i had the potential to go overboard but i know its something hes really not into...commercialism, waste of money blah blah blah lol but, even so, i have got him a few little gifts...some boxers that say "trousersnake" on them, a litle cook book of sexy food and a box of green&blacks chocolate. and his card is made out of sheep poo. really, it is! well hes a fan of recycling so i thought he would like it :giggle: i imagine the longer youre with someone the more difficult it gets to find a gift....but something small and thoughtful will always work wont it?

I said this the other day in the Valentine poll, I personally get outraged at the price increases on that one day commonly called "Valentine's Day". People without much money will stress because they cannot afford to buy their partners something nice.. and the whole meaning of the day goes out the window, it's just not fair. For us, we will do the cards but as for anything else we normally go out for a meal the day before or the day after and toast our real day at home with some wine. I'll probably cook a nice steak or something like that, followed by a very nice dessert :grin: I love Mr Jay all year round and don't need any particular day to tell him that. On the other hand, Valentine's day is ideal for singles wanting to let that certain person know how they feel.. aaw that's sweet. In answer to your question Maz, you are very right in saying there isn't much choice for a man, therefore how about an "IOU" note wrapped up in a bow, leaving him to decide what you can do for him, sounds corny but it can have a very sexy affect, believe me

We dont tend to get too involved in all the material things, but then again joe is bloody hard to buy for anyway. We do like to celebrate Valentines in our own way but with a house guest staying here i doubt if we will even be able to do that. Louise xx

I've never had the nerve to buy anyone a valentines gift (outside of my ex long term relationship). Always scared of doing the wrong thing when it comes to people I just like. We don't normally do much as the date has sad family memories attached. How romantic But lets be honest if you had started seeing this girl last july you'd probably have done the same then, sending a loved one flowers or taking them out for a romantic meal should happen anytime so in that way of thinking valentines day is no more than another commercial money making day.
