Well it’s that time of year again, the harvest is coming in, the fruits of our labours are being consumed and the veggies are tasting sooo much better than shop bought.
I harvested my carrots today

:lol2:
Anyone else got any weird veg in their harvest?
Yeah well I heard about alleged (sp) interbreeding in Wiltshire! rotflmao
I didn't know they meant the veg though blink
Lord only knows what your neighbour was doing with her tomatoes last weekend then

We grew our own carrots and loads of other stuff but our carrots looked like urs but a little smaller, the best thing we got this yr was our pumpkins, only got 2 but there a good 2
I only found time to grow tomatoes this year - and they were all the 'standard' shape. However they tasted so much better than anything bought from a supermarket!

Fruit and veg home grown always taste sooooooo much better home grown, Our cucumbers where really tasty this yr as where our toms, s-onions, cabbage, lettace etc etc the list goes on :thrilled:
I went to a resturant recently and on the menu were baby carrots. I asked the waiter at what age did carrots become adults and he looked at me like I was an idiot (true of course).
Anyway do you think we have an example of an adolescent carrot here?
Its so much better to catch them when they're still young and sweet. When they grow up they become bitter and twisted.

Sorry to wander off the point but does anyone know what sun-blushed tomatoes are?
It's a variety isn't it? Either that or they're the ones without the knotted hankies on thier little heads.
