How insulting for the newbies........ how would you feel coming to an adult site where a group of established people treated you like morons! The gen ones will read the rules and follwo them to the best of their abilty regardless of little symbols/ labels beside their name!
Give people credit for having some of the intelligence they were born with please!

One of the best rooms I was involved in used the +V to verify ages ... immediately upon entering the room a newbie received a pm outlining very brief rules / conduct expected. At the end they were asked to pm an op and confirm they had read this pm and confirm their age / dob. Any newbie not complying was kicked and anyone abusing the conduct code was banned.
All in all it was a fantastic atmosphere rarely were the rules/conduct abused and the room has been established for about 9 years, originally for 5 years on one of the worst servers for spammers!
If we adopted a policy in the chatroom there would be no need for treating anyone differently as all people receive the same information and newbies now what is
expected of them immediately.
How anyone can justify treating newbies so differently is beyond me ....... but to treat regular chatters the same as a newbie and "dumb" them down is frankly insulting.

Hang on a moment. I'm only reporting what I see in the chatroom. Im my experience, the likelyhood of reporting a pvt is based on how experienced people are in the channel rather than how 'genuine' they are.
'Gen ones' as you put it are probably quite intimidated at first, and I'm giving them the credit to assume they won't want the first line they say after hello to be an accusation against somene who (for all they know) might be a highly respected elder member of the site.
I know it took me a while to get used to naming and shaming when I arrived, partly because it's human nature to be nice to people unless you are sure they deserve what's coming to them.

I'm def not against the +V but not for the reasons it's currently being used for ..... everyone who read the conduct/room rules was awarded a +v ... it just meant that they had agreed to abide by the pm ......
giving a +V to someone who will fuck to get status is just as much an abuse of the +V system as unwanted pm's and doesn't make them anymore genuine .... (that isn't me saying all those currently with a +V are status fuckers either)
I am, like many others in this debate, against the use of +V to denote "players" when the system was initially introduced as a denotion of genuineness. The more the debate goes on the more it is less about genuineness and more about "players".
