i am told, by someone who knows, that viagara only works if the desire is there. And it cant make desire....only helps in the physical rection to desire!
What's percentage of the populace on average does viagra not work? I've the strongest (I think 200mg) and absolutely nothing!

I may be mistaken but I think the strongest doseage available on the N.H.S. is 100mg tablets. No G.P. will prescribe these pills without first referring you to a hospital specialist for several tests first. sad
The makers of this drug do not guarantee more than about an 80% success rate. It's a bit like headace pills, some work, others dont, it depends on the physiology person taking them. confused
Whilst you can buy Viagra through various Internet sources it is definately stupid to take it without having the necessary medical checks first. Viagra can, and has, killed some users who thought they knew better.
If you obtain and take Viagra without medical supervision you have to ask yourself 'IS IT WORTH KILLING MYSELF FOR A LEG OVER'
There is an alternative available called 'Uprima'. This is available in 2 and 4 mg dosages. Again your G.P. will not prescribe it without the same tests as for Viagra.
Both drugs have side effects, many of which are very unpleasant. Should you experience chest pains after taking either, your best bet is to get to hospital as soon as possible, it might just save your life. 8)
Neither of these drugs work instantly and you have to be sexually aroused in order for them to work. Viagra is swallowed whole, Uprima is placed under the tongue and allowed to disolve over a period of 10-20 minutes.
Both drugs are used to treat male patients with erectile disfunction, if you don't have that problem don't use either at all, neither drug is made to give a normal male an extra long 'hard on'. :(
If you don't need it, don't take it. Simple advice I know, but there will always be some idiot out there who thinks he knows better. rolleyes

Oooppps - Sorry Harry! redface surprisedops:
*shakes empty can and hands it back to Harry*
Just used the last of it - got a meet tonight *winks*
Want me to plug the iron in instead mate?
Serious note
No answer on whether he is on prescription for these and as Harry says 100mg is the largest dose prescribed in the UK (or anywhere else to my knowledge!). I can only assume it is non prescribed useage and therefore this discussion is pointless. Anyone using the drug under prescription will have all the information given by the doctor as well as the opportunity to ask further questions of his doctor.
How many people taking prescription drugs other than Viagra would ask a forum of non medical people advice before asking their doctor?
You are two sandwiches short of a picnic!
HarryO said No G.P. will prescribe these pills without first referring you to a hospital specialist for several tests first.
Sorry Harry but this is incorrect. I know because I was prescribed Viagra by my GP. All I did was tell him that I was having problems. I think it may have a lot to do with the GP knowing his or her patient.

If I was in your position pete I would seriously think about changing my G.P. No matter how well he knows you he cannot carry out the necessary tests in his surgery. Did he, for example, do blood tests, lung capacity and other breathing tests, did he give you an ECG. If not, I would start to worry a little. sad
Many G.P.'s are overworked and allocate merely a few minutes to each patient and some may not be as careful as they should be when prescribing drugs. confused
As I said in my first note, 'Viagra can and has killed'. If I needed it, I would want to be bloody sure that it would be safe for me to take it by having the tests first.

Lets not get carried away on the anti drugs bandwaggon here.
Alcohol has killed a hell of a lot more people than Viagra ever will.
Viagra is a drug that needs to be used carefully, eg no alcohol at the same time but as adults surely we should have the right to make our own choices about how we use our bodiesconfused:
I know a number of people who have used the drug, non perscribed and it has added to their relationships without problems.
If there is an underlying problem there are excellent, natural, food supplements that do work in the long term. However they will not give the "guaranteed" four hor erection that Viagra does.
Personally I look forward to the day when the new 32 hour Viagra is available over here!!

How about let's get off this bandwagon!!

I throw my hands up every time I see a reference to drugs and swinging. Never the twain should meet. I accept that it does happen and am not wanting to brush it under the carpet. BUT... Viagra is a prescribed drug for very good reasons. The day it is passed for over the counter use and can be purchased by everyone is the day I will agree with you.

NO NO NO - Viagra is a drug that should be used by the person it is prescribed for under careful medical supervision. Please let us not forget (and I Know) It is illegal for anyone to sell Viagra in this country as it is a prescription only drug!!!!!!
I think it is very important that we do not give the wrong impression to users of this site that it is acceptable or even ethical to purchase for recreational use.

Lock this thread someone please
Have to agree with Wilma,If you were feeling a little down you would go on the net or to some guy down the pub to buy some prozac would you?Drugs like these have to be monitored and used correctly thats why they're on prescription
Your wish is my command Wilma. And I always like to go that bit extra for you. I think there is a great deal of important information in here, so I am going to split the thread at Cinders post, and make it a sticky. Then lock it. I will put a link in to the original post so the replies are not lost.

Just as an added warning - Jomu asked any that may be considering the use of viagra either legal or illegal consider this:
You may put out the warning that using nitrates (amyl/butyl nitrate(poppers etc)) at the same time as viagra will dramatically hasten the knock on the pearly gates.
OK. so someone comes along with an opinion that is not our own and our response is to "lock the thread"?
Sorry i thought i was on an adult site viewable only by those over eighteen

Whoa!!!
Opinion is fine. We all have one. But discussing something that is an illegal activity in this country is NOT up for debate in this forum.
I think you will find that this thread would have been locked whether or not I requested it.
Merry Christmas !!!
Wilma
Hiya Foxy, I don't think anyone was disagreeing.
Viagra is a drug that should only be used under medical supervision, regardless of our personal feelings about this, that is the way it is.
This site will not condone in anyway the use of any drugs illegally.
and says quickly - no I don't think that is what you were suggesting foxy, but that was why the original request to lock the thread was made.
