Well done last night Chelsea, not just for beating Barcelona and getting through to the finals of the Champions League but more for shutting up those annoying British Commentators.
As a Man Utd fan and red till I'm dead I tuned my car radio into the match hoping to see Chelsea beaten, within 15 minutes of listening to the sickening commentry I wanted them to win, the British commentators didn't have a kind word to say about the British team, now it is good when they can remain unbias but they were totally bias, they were convinced that Chelsea were going to get trounced despite the fact that Chelsea won the first leg, the praise for Barcelona's superior skill everytime they touched the ball and the advice on how not to get a thrashing for Chelsea everytime they touched the ball was quite sickening, I would like to have seen what they had to say for themselves at the end of the match with Chelsea drawing on the night despite being down to 10 men and winning on aggregate.
I do believe Chelsea can go on to win the final and they deserve to do it.

barcelona mids played there usual one dimensional football mids. even i knew where there next pass was going. JT and his actions did not help chelsea but those other ten players i have to say were nothing short of brilliant.
chelsea beat them at home and beat them over to legs. it matters not that they had so much of the ball for at the end it counted for nothing. they are not in the final. that may not be fair either but that is what this sport is about. scoring more goals than your opponent, and chelsea did :thumbup::thumbup:
all those peeple who hate chelsea or hate man utd etc, have to acknowledge that what chelsea achieved last night was a once in a lifetime result. the match was exciting and had everything you could have asked for in a game of football. we even saw Torres score which does not happen that often.
good luck to chelsea in the final and barcelona will just this season have to settle for there spanish cup, as they will not even be winning la liga lol so much for there beautiful football. the same could be said for arsenal as well :notes:
I have to congratulate Chelsea on a great result and wish them luck in the final.
If football commentators knew as much about results as they think they do, they would be bookies :lol2:
I hope John Terry has finally realised despite his footballing talent he is one of the biggest cunts the sport has ever seen.
I will enjoy watching the final knowing he wont be there for what would have been one the biggest highlights of his career - and its all his own fault for being a thug rotflmao

Totally agree with you re John Terry. It was laughable listening to him trying to explain why he had been sent off, ie the Barca player had used his arse to attack JT's knee and saying that everyone that knows him, knows he wouldn't do anything like that.
Bet he hopes that the magistrates understand just how honest he is when he appears in court in July.

His best chance is for it to be settled in magistrates court, there are not enough people in the country who dont think he is an asshole to make a jury!! :lol2:
The story has disappeared behind the Times firewall now but JT demanding burger and chips at a lebenese restaurant and throwing a hissy until they (pressumably went out and) got it for him is a great indication of his character.

To be fair, I don't think many 'neutrals' would've put a substantial amount of cash on Chelsea winning at Camp Nou.
And I don't necessarily expect British commentators to automatically support/favour the British team. I'd expect unbiased discussion of both teams. However I can see why, until the result was in, they were still expecting a Barca win.
But then maybe I'm biased wink
I watch football by proxy.
Last night, 24hrs after the chelsea game my man had a couple of his mates over and they watched the match 24hrs on even though they knew the score.
I was surfing here and am some distance from the living room where my man and his mates could be heard analyzing, criticizing, yelling, burping and generally hurling insults at the screen
in a mini pundit kind of way while the match was on.
Of course Chelsea were on 'a hiding from nothing' John Terry & Frank Lampard are past it, Torres was lucky to score and Messi? would normally run rings around them and be on to a hat trick and they (Chelsea) just got lucky...
It isnt just paid commentators that had it in for the London team, by the end of the evening and the bellowing from the living room I was subjected to i rather hope Chelsea go on to win whatever competition it is their in and stuff one right up da jacsky of the armchair critics found in my abode yesterday evening.
Feckin football
I think its to do with the amount of over respect we have here for foreign teams and players . Maybe it has to do with our roots as one of the first leagues to have and welcome foreign players into our squads. If you look at the premiership now you may argue that was a bad thing. The commentators and punditry for sure spend far to long evaluating the threat of the other team than they do talking up what we have here. I for one would have no objection to more UK biased commentators on our own channels as this certainly happens in other countries! Anyone remember the Polish commentator lol
To touch on what Nola said about Neutrals. From my point of view how might a neutral look at it? For starters English clubs have been in the later stages of the competition on mass for a great number of the last few years. We are the second most successful nation in European cup/champions league history and second only to the Spanish. The Spanish are only the most successful team due to Real Madrid winning it 5 times consecutively at the competitions inception and UK teams missing years due to the Heysel Stadium disaster. Had UK teams not been banned at that period I have no doubt we would be the top overall nation in the European cup/Champions league. You may find that neutrals have more respect or expectation of the UK sides than we do.
Very good points, but I still insist on Exeter City getting a wildcard entry lol
