Are all women not shaved then?
I take both paracetemol and/or ibuprofen a little bit before, just to help with any pain. That said, it really only hurts at that second and not really afterwards at all, or at least thats what I find, but maybe that's the painkillers kicking in!lol
I am going on Monday for a consultation and skin patch for laser hair removal as I have had enough of waxing, can't wait to see how much that's going to hurt!
Reading this type of thread makes me feel quite shivery.
Plim
I second popping a couple of pills before the deed is done. It's not actually all that bad. It hurts like all hell for the second it's being ripped off but thats all. I wouldn't go back to any other method now. The only thing thats a bit of a pain is having to let it grow back and timing it if you have "things" planned.
I'd love laser but sadly we can't afford it. We can just about stretch to the £40 every 5 weeks - saying that, on my last visit, my therapist told me she was leaving. I nearly cried till she told me she'd do home visits. That should bring the price right down. It's hard to find a decent therapist and mine is thorough to say the least. She's seen bits of me that *Him* hasn't lol

Whatever you do... don't go anytime near your period. EVER!
I also go with the paracetamol.
It hurts most the first time you go... something to do with the fact that you've been shaving so the hairs are cut rather than taken out by the root. The next time isn't nearly as bad so do persevere.
And Sass... can you let me know how you get on with that... I think I may go down that road too.

ladies, ladies, do you really need to subject us poor men to all the details? just show up smooth and leave it at that.

To be honest, I'd get a right big kick out of showing you how it's done personally... with tweezers!

Just became a fan of hairy :haha:
Dunno what the norm is but I can cope with trimmed back, dont need an eggshell finish.

I'm interested in that too confused
Even though I love my epilady, it would be so much nicer not having to bother at all
paracetamol an hour before is a good idea, and definitely a week either side of your period is bad news just because you#re more sensetive at that time.
The first time i had mine done i started with the bikini line both sides, then the next strip inwards both sides and so on so that if i bottled it i would be even and would have a stripe. It seemed less scary that way i thought. I still screamed the place down though.
Now i hardly hard to believe how much it hurt in the beginning.
Good luck with it!
May I wish you good fortune on this your first day of professional depilation. Minx says yer a braver gal than her.
May I also make a stand for fanny fuzz. I don't care what yer foo foo looks like. Bald, trimmed, going to seed its all the same to me. A sunny disposition a warm heart and a love of sex in all its sensual lustful silly giggly forms does much more for me. Oh and if you have that glint in your eye then I am putty in your hands.
To reassure you I have checked the records and there has never been a recorded incidence of a woman being rejected by a man for having incorrectly coiffured pubic hair.
Kaz whats a little pain between friends,
Vampanya how long as it taken you to come on here lol
Ahh DM, I've been here a while, just not posted since my first dabble a couple of months ago. This thread i am qualified to reply to!

Im sure a nice girl like you would qualify to comment on most thing, any way nice to see you about wink
Well tonight's the night! Had the consultation for laser yesterday and the first treatment is tonight.:eeek: I am somewhat nervous, but the nurse assures me that if the pain is too much there is a numbing gel that can be used. Now - why don't they use that for waxing!
Its most definitely all about Waxing lol waxed Nu Nu's are lovely, partly (waxed with neat shapping) and totally, (Completely off)
Hmmm oh the thoughts! Shmooooove Is Sexy
First laser treatment (of six) is done and I can honestly say that it hardly hurts at all, just the odd sensitive bit, but once they move on to another area any pain goes.
They use a cold air jet at the same time as the laser to cool the skin as they go and the best way to describe the sensation of the laser is like tiny little needles prickling the skin or like plucking hairs. It is no where near as painful as waxing!
It's really quick, they did full bikini area and underarms in about 15 mins at the most and the best bit, it doesn't hurt afterwards at all. I have really sensitive skin and normally am red and bumpy for days - not after this!
I am a convert. It hurts less than waxing and in the long run is cheaper! The bikini area alone (all hair off like a hollywood wax) is only £455 for a course of six treatments. (£765 for both bikini and underarms). You may then need the odd treatment, maybe only or twice a year (if at all), only if any dormant hairs grow back, which are around £60 a time. Now it sounds a lot in one go, but compare it to waxing at £25-40 a time, which needs to be done every 4-6 weeks, it pays for itself within a year or so.

Hmmmmm, you sell it well lol I must admit, the thought of not having to let it grow back and fit the appointments in around social engagements is appealing. As is not having to go through the pain every time.
Sadly we don't have the money right now, but if work picks up - I may be giving you a call for advice!
Good to see you back posting btw wave

Id be really interested to know how it looks and feels in a couple of monthts and a year or so. How many extra treatments you might have had etc. I'm considering it as mine are so sparce now after years of regular waxing that it would be great to be done with it alltogether. But it is a lot to shell out. Would you perhaps post a thead later in the year?
So when are u gonna get spinning and knitting and post me my balaclava?

Ewwwww! :laughabove:
Totally hijacking the thread - sorry Kaznkev - I've just attempted to wax my upper lip ready for tomorrow night. I've done it before, no problems but today the wax just wouldn't come away (new "improved" wax strips!). I had to go over it several times and it still hasn't taken it all off. I now have a patchy upper lip and what I think will turn into a scab tomorrow.
HELP! What can I do?

I am having 6 treatments roughly 6-8 weeks apart, so will keep you updated and let you know what it feels like after a year or so, but so far so good. Oh and you can shave or use cream to get rid of any hair that grows in between treatments (but not wax) as the hair only has to be a 1mm or 2mm for the laser to work.
