i started swinging with my ex wife back in 1983 with close friends we had been talking about it for ages in those days it was called wife swapping this we did one cold saturday night it was gr8 fun ,progressing to others via contact mags ( thank god for the nett nowadays and swinging heaven... thank you swinging heaven)the contact mags use to charge per rely a lot of money back then and i suppose a lot of peeps got rich on the scene we met some gr8 peeps , just recently a programe called life on mars was on the telly where there was depicted a wife swapping session and beleive me it was so real that some one on that programe must have been a swinger cos it was down to a tee anyone else have recollections of those beginner days xxx steve :P
Yeah remember Rendez Vous ? One of the contact mags.
But a lot of people used Forum, which was quite good as well.
Actually Loot was quite useful.
yes can remember rondesvous and forum but that tended to be for the older swinger ooops just like me ... grrrrrrrrrrrr the best was a mag called experience thats where we met a few contacts but as allways like today a lot of timewasters and single males pretending ? p[rob was it cost you and then had to wait about a week before a reply nowadays things more quick down to sites like swingers heaven but even then frout with timewasters and single males ? we in the past maybe set the standard for today at the end of the day we are in it for fun meets and to make friendships be it in or out of swinging most peeps are genuine but as allways the minority spoil things for the majority thats the way i suppose it has to be ne mind you plod on xxx steve

Yep, for those of us who were in the London area, Loot was avery useful means of contact. wink
Yes, also used Forum, and a mag called Experience.
I remember Rendezvous...Never had much luck with the mags...Too tight to buy stamps lol
I've just purchased both series of "Life on Mars" having missed most on TV. I will certainly look out for the wife swap scene !!!
Echoes
Loot??
Blimy...
I used Experience also, just forgot its name. There were several other magazines all brimming with eager shaggers.
The main thing about then, back in the day, was that as everyone had to make some effort to get in touch, it usually meant, they were keen to actually do it. So the ratio of succes in proportion to responses; was much higher, than now.
Along with these contacts, I also used several vanilla contact magazines. Dateline, is still going ,but it was chocker with adventurers. Whilst the procedures involved conventional dating, the actual point of them was for sex, but sufficiently disguised so as not to upset the squeamish, and spoil things with blatant behaviour.
Good times, in my 30's.
Experience was our choice - loved the 'letters' and found that because people had to put the effort into replying, success rate of replies was better.

Ditto, Duncan, Time Out and City Limits were also used for similar purposes. wink
Yeah Time Out was good for me also.
Now, because of the internet, anyone can dabble and time waste etc. Back then you were investing in something, which you instinctively knew was going to be succesfull at some point; more often than not sooner than you thought.
And remember that was directly after the Aids scare in 1980.
But its only because I was of an age then. Which is the same for them doing it now. they probably find just as much of a success rate, in comparative terms.
