Blimey that b rings back memories lol Our head teacher used to flush scarlet - I think that just used to make it even more worth doing biggrin
As for the topic. I find it so sad such things come to pass. Guns are an abomination. How on earth a "civilised' society can still advocate them for public sale is beyond me.
Mind you the article leaves open the debate for more doesn't it? Things such as bullying, parenting, gun laws, Schooling, internet the list could go on.
Lets just thank god that the kids friend had the sense to report him to the police. At least a tragedy was possibly averted and also possibly the child might get some help? Though whether thats a possiblility in a young offenders thingy in Pennsylvania who knows?
Good god what was this stupid woman thinking, I can understand her being upset with the fact her son was bullied and I know bullies desevere to be punished, but is it punishable by death???
I know what it is like to be teased for being fat unfortuately it is something I have always been, but we need to educate our children to accept everyone no matter what their differences may be!
I just thank god one of the things we have not inherited from the yanks is their gun culture and hopefully we never will!!

this reply might cause a bit of controversy here so apologies in advance! And a slight hijack! redface
I agree that what this mother did was totally irresponsible in my books extremely bad parenting and wrong.
however the replies about gun cultures and laws have made me feel the need to add my tuppence worth. rolleyes
The majority of licensed gun/ firearms holders in the uk would be appauled at this. There are very strict firearms laws in the uk and it can be legally very difficult to obtain a licence. ( the black market and gangs route i have no idea so cannot possibly comment)
legal uk gun owners have a code of good practice to which they adhere to (unless you watch emmerdale and the privilege tv ads). This includes the education of children about guns, , and I find that children bought up in homes that have legal guns have a respect for the weapon and know what its proper uses are.
so what I am trying to say in a long winded way is that gun licensing and changing the laws in the uk, will not make a difference, in my opinion, it is those with out a licence that cause problems. Why punish those the adhere to the rules? confused
sorry couldnt let it go without saying something, my case in point is how many gun crimes in the uk are carried out by legal gun holders?? - very very few!

Are you deliberatly going out of your way to get banned from here? Or are you just waiting for the next dig at me?
Either way I think the first one is coming. You carry on m8 but I will not respond anymore to you. There are enough people on here you will find to dig out.

good morning peeps wave
hope we have all got out on the right side of the bed this morning rotflmao
Perhaps, just perhaps, the bans could draw a line under it all. Just maybe people could climb out of their trenches and start afresh, stop the shit stirring, and respond to the post, not the poster.
Just a thought.

somethingtellsme the bullying isnt gonna stop for this lad...........

I think it is a sad reflection of how people feel let down by society today and having been abused feel that they have to take matters in their own hands.
Surely it is more a reflection of how confused the world is and how having so many grey areas just doesn't give out the right signals.
I blame 'Human Rights' for stuff like this. You can't punish the bullies because it will infringe on their human rights, so the bullied lose the will to live and lose their right to feel happy and confident.
People are scared to react in case they get labelled as the 'bad one' and their is too much red tape and too much talking. When people abuse other people they should be dealt with, it should be nipped in the bud and people should be supported to get their life back on the road after being subjected to bullying.
The Mother? God knows what was going through her head, but I think she obviously needed help and I doubt she got any.
The other thing that concerns me. Often what you see happen in America, sooner or later it happens over here. I wonder how long it will be before someone misguided, unsupported and let down by the system will attempt such a stupid solution here?
