Its been SOOOOOO HARRRRRDDD, still go loads and loads of chocolate left in the house, and as for the booze OMG. Its going to be very temping, BUT, if we all stick together we will all do this.

Sent my PM to Musketeer....cringed at my start weight but hopefully it'll be a lot less in a few months....
But I've started my first diet day by being sick.....that's not good, so it'll be porridge all day for me I'm afraid...
Slept well after yesterday's exercise and even managed to do some stomach crunches this morning!
Determination is there - I just gotta sort out the food part.
The kids go back to school on thurs so that should give me more time and incentive to do more about it.
Did we set a time limit on this diet? or are we gonna just keep on going till whenever?
Progress report. Zootle and Sexyann57 have decided not to start, zootle may join later I think. With todays new addition we now have 42 people on the list and of these 17 have still to weigh themselves.

Couldn’t help noticing this thread and thought i would add a few helpful hints and tips, If you use them good on you if you don’t fair enough.
The Body Mass Index (BMI) as somebody mentioned before is a calculation of your height compared with your body weight. This result can then be compared with a graph to show whether you’re under weight over weight etc. The BMI is by no means 100% accurate however it does provide a half decent outlook on your health.

The focus of many people within this group seems to be to loose weight by avoiding rich or fatty foods this however will inevitably be your downfall as you will soon be craving things like chocolate, cake or ice cream. The key to losing weight is very simple.
(these figures are made up as i cant find my little book that tells me the correct calculation, ill try to find this for you)
Your body needs a set amount of calories to maintain its weight. For instance a 14 stone man would need 3000 calories per day to remain at 14 stone.
if he was eating 2800 calories a day or burning 200 calories per day through exercise then he would lose weight and visa versa, if he was eating 3200 calories a day he would put on weight.
So as long as you enjoy everything in moderation and increased your exercise levels there is know reason why you cannot still enjoy the things you ate before.

Afraid I'm going to have to pull out... been assigned to bed rest indefinately which means no activity for god knows how long. :cry: (not even that kind)
So why is it normally the kids scoff the chocolate, sweets crisp etc before we can get a look in. Now when we want them to eat them, they are not interested in eating them and they just stay there sitting in the bowls. Is this torture or what?

There is some controversy about using the BMI as a means of determining ideal weight...
It does not take into account, muscle mass, age or bodyfat %.
A much better way of looking at it is a combination of height, weight, body fat and lean muscle mass...

The wife has a BMI of and although she doesn't love me anymore she's still fit, (in a visual sense). Not quite as fit as when I met her 30 years ago but still a size 10, a great body, and legs to die for.
It's a metabolism thing, she takes no real exercise, sits and pigs chocolate, biscuits and anything lying around in cupboards, and just doesn't add a pound. It's very disheartening.
Battled with the cravings for chips last night - despite queuing in the chip shop for fish and chips for Eagerslut....
2 more days and the carb cravings should subside.....I hope anyway, this is worse than having PMT!!!!!!!!!
Right, went to the chemist to weigh myself today................ and the bloody things were out of order!!! so i'm very sorry but going to be a day behind if thats ok, as i am poaching my mums scales off her tomorrow.
