Day one and i'm already desperate for carbs...... can I come over for tea?
LOTS OF MAIL STILL IN MY OUTBOX -
I sent everyone on the list a standard mail and lots are still stuck in my outbox.
I guess loads of people here "do it" from work and so won't be logging on for a while, but so far I've got 10 confirmations, and I think the list was 39 - 1, and is now 41 or 42.
By the way, I was troubled how to send these mails in the most efficient way since bulk mailing seems impossible. What I did was to send myself the mail with everyones user-name on it, and then click "quote" cutting and pasting the first name in on the list, clicking "send", and then pressing the "back" button so I could do the same thing again with the next on the list, and so on. It didn't take too long but I wonder if there's a faster way?
I've just logged on after 2 weeks away and seen this. Am i too late to join?
I'm two days in already and doing good so far biggrin 2Ibs down, 5 stone to go redface

No I'll pm you the mail. It's a bit like The Eagles "Hotel California", you can join when you like "but you can never leave!"
Right I have been for a walk this morning. 45 mins walking in an Esher print - uphill the whole way. I think I have left one of my lungs out there so will have to go again to look for it tomorrow.
Going out for dinner tonight  Will have two starters insteead of a main courses. And some physical activity planned for dessert.

Yep I'm hoping that I can get away with it.
At least I did find the documents now after searching the house yesterday - typical that they were in the bloody car lol

Misschief Diet Day 1
Woke up at some unearthly hour with parents ringing kindly offering to come round RIGHT NOW  and help me decorate youngests bedroom and dump a load of stuff confused Spoke to early morning parents in me best 'I've been up for ages' voice :?
No time for breakfast evil - burned up about 200 calories screaming 'ruuun children, ruuun for your livvves, pick up anything moveable and shove it in a cupboard'. 200 calories running round with the children, shoving stuff in cupboard. Extra 30 calories here for pulling out one kid I had accidently wedged into airing cupboard rolleyes
50 calories burned searching and locating cat in eldests wardrobe
Parents arrived, 500 calories helping me dad fill a trailor full of junk  - off we drove to the dump ........... 5000 calories burned retrieving half of trailor load from a rather bumpy level crossing mad No dad couldn't stop straight away, he felt it necessary to drive about half a mile to a 'safe spot', leaving me to walk bluddy quick, retrieve junk and carry it back :x Additional 100 calories burned here as a mixture of humiliation and fuming fuel :x
30 calories burned offloading junk -would've been more had I not stood by trailor doing my best 'Damsel in distress' impression after the first run up the steps cool Ok not so much a run up the steps as a combination of struggling and whimpering, hence nice workmen helping 8-)
80 more calories burned thinking about the location (conveniently forgetting it was a tip), and what a good dogging location it would be ....... thoughts included above nice workmen 8-)
Home again for an afternoon of sanding and painting, 100 calories burned, and a further 100 in silent whinging :?
300 calories burned on a shopping trip for furniture and paint, carrying heavy hoover, stress from 'customer services' etc. Unfortunately the extra 200 pounds that I also offloaded was not in flab :x
Time for some energy on the way home, stopped off for some KFC while eldest kids legged it into McDonalds for some matchmaker McFlurries 8-) ............. what!!!! dunno Don't look at me like that, it was well earned I tell ya!!!
Now bluddy knackered, but full of optimism that this diet is gonna work!!! If today is anything to go by - I reckon I'm gonna be wafer thin by about Friday!! :bounce:
biggrin

lol what a fabulous idea. Im sure my rockports will weigh atleast 3 stone each!!!1

Ain't that sweet - I have Rockports as well smile . When I hold them they feel so light, but when I put them on & weigh myself.............. 12 st 8 lb........ so the shoes must weigh at least 2 st  . Now that is definitely spooky evil .
The shoes might weigh even more tomorrow, as I am starting on my bottle of port & pot of stilton tonight :P ............... I said STARTING on it tonight mad
And I think I have 5 mince pies left............
I'm late to see this thread but just wanted to drop in and wish you all well. I'm sure 90% of you don't need to lose weight but from experience I can tell you that when you do it IS rather good.
Over the last couple of months I've dropped from 16 2 down to 14 10 and still going strong.
I've not seen the list but if I could throw my well meant advice in thats working for me:-
1) find excuses to walk - even when there really is no reason. When shopping don't buy things in the right order and give yourself extra walking about to grab things - sounds daft but my wandering around town on a Saturday has probably doubled it's length.
2) If you live near enough to where you're going then walk. I've started getting off the metro I used to take to work and walking 90% of the way. I'm lucky enough to be able to do this but even a stop or two is extra. In this alone my weekday walking has gone from 10mins to about 50mins per day.
3) Don't buy crisps, choc, cakes OR booze thinking you'll keep it for rewards cos if you're like me you WILL eat it stupidly quickly. You'll save pounds as well as pounds that way too - what a bonus.
4) Get sleep. I know that'll cause some giggles on a site like this but those getting more sleep have been clinically proven to not retain weight as much. It's a throwback to stoneage man where long and frequent rest meant safety, and this in turn meant no need for the body to hoard food.
5) Depending on what your arranged dietry advice is on here this last one may or may not clash. Read the packaging and look for the "per 100g" breakdown - if it's 4g of fat or less and low sugar then you're fine with it. The body needs a little fat to work and this means food choice isn't limited.
Just trying to help !! Let me know if I'm talking out of school !!

I failed on day one sad
Morbius takes a lot of the responsibility for eating a mcdonalds in front of me at lunchtime, buying the kids Millie cookies in town and inviting the in laws round to help put up som furniture and then forgetting about dinner completely and going to the chippy ..
Will try harder :(
It's easy for me not to eat crap or junk food while I'm at home. That problem will start tomorrow when I go back to work ! !
I even managed a brisk walk today. About a mile. Let's not get too siily too early.
My biggest problem today is the lack of nicotine ! ! ! ! !
I WANT A SMOKE ! ! ! ! !
I have been really good for 2 days!!!
Even went to the gym and for a swim!!!
The only problem being that I was starving after going swimming...........
Why is it that swimming makes you sooooooo hungry???? dunno
Mrs Cov
well I decided to take the kids on a bike ride (only cos the car isn't taxed till tomorrow) so we set off for the stables this afternoon.
Not that it's far - only a 10 min drive usually, the fact that my borrowed bike is one my 9yr old rides, has no brakes (i didn't find out till going along the road) there's no pedals left and the back tyre was almost flat!!!
FFS and what with the gale force winds and my now ever increasing sore bottom I won't be doing that 70 min trip again in a hurry!!!
Ok so I'll tax the car tomorrow and drive to the stables but I have promised myself I'll ride the horse at least 5 times a week and run up and down the stairs when I'm home.
At least quiutting smoking at new yr has made my breathing easier so I should be able to get fitter and who knows maybe with the money I'll save not smoking I might pluck up the courage to go back to the local gym when I've lost a little weight.
Anything but cycling lol

Superb advice as usual - gonna take that 4g of fat rule with me shopping biggrin ........ That'll piss the kids off :lol2: then I can also burn extra calories by arguing with em :D
Bluddy well done on your weight loss!

For some reason if I go out in the evening, when I get back I always feel like having a drink & a snack! Even worse, I feel like that when I get back from a Weightwatchers meeting. rolleyes :dunno:

Brilliant, great to hear you are feeling the benefit of giving up the evil weed.

I love cycling & have just started again. That's because I have definitely decided that my body is far too old for *running* . So I'll be doing as much cycling as possible, & I've been able to get plenty of weight off in the past doing that.
A general point worth bearing in mind for everyone is that while exercise is good for you, too much can be very bad for your health. So don't overdo it folks. Don't want anyone dropping dead from a heart attack or anything silly like that. biggrin

Can I join now pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ????????
I really have got to do something about my excess weight confused
Lucy kiss
Totally boring start to diet, but that's my plan. Ham roll for lunch, sausages, peas, onions, gravy and mash for dins, but no in-between biscuits, no booze, and no seconds.
This morning, 2 slices toast and marmalade instead of 3, no butter.
