I am currently reading inca gold by clive cussler.
I adore James Ellroy. My favourite of his is American Tabloid.
I am reading David Simon's Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets which is one of the books which inspired the TV series The Wire. Simon is an excellent observational writer and the subject matter - Baltimore's homicide department - is fascinating.
I've got loads of work-based reading to do at the mo so admittedly it is taking me a while longer than normal to get through, but it is great.

I've read Cold Six Thousand but will probably save the new one for over the festive period when I have chance to read it in one sitting - it's been a long time coming!
In edit: I also love LA Confidential - much better than the film.
I've been considering trying to read Kapital by Marx again,I was a little young last time I tried and just couldn't get the plot...does it have a happy ending??
I read Forgotten Voices of the Great War.
Good book containing stories from real squaddies during the First World War.
Bored of the Rings- still.
It's bloody funny, and not all that long- but it's travelled to several countries, done a around the UK trip (more than once) and I still haven't gotten past 3/4's of the flaming thing.
Divine by mistake PC Cast
but am waiting for the laurel k hamilton books to be delivered
101 ways to kill a cat.
Just bought Chocolate and Cuckoo Clocks by Alan Coren and Belle de Jour.

I need space for all my new books I am going to get a Christmas :bounce:.............I know I am getting one so far, so I hope I get more than that or it will look lonely on a shelf on its own lol

In Eithiopia with a Mule by Dervla Murphy
and
For a Pagan Song: In the Footsteps of the Man Who Would be King - Travels in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan by Jonny Bealby
both authors obviously make it out alive 'cause they brought books out after these!
Just discovered Bealby through his Running with the Moon, about his travels through Africa by motorbike loooooong before Ewan McGregors trip. Great travel books with a very touching story throughout.

Thanks sexy, snogs and naughty stuff xxxxxx
I'm working my way through the "Horus Heresy" books. When the final book is released next year (estimated), there will be 15 books in the series. I'm on Book 6 "Descent of Angels" at the moment, mainly due to the fact I haven't found book 7 or 8 yet and I haven't gotten around to ordering them at Waterstones (or where ever) yet.
Am also reading a couple of Pratchett books (Nightshift and Making Money) in between too lol
