worlass and I are coming to the end of our world tour of Paris and Barcelona...and I am watching her pack and will be, again, for the next two hours
I bought a small suitcase and her suitcase is slightly larger rolleyes . Our tour is for 7 nights and 8 full days. (left at 8am and will arrive home at 8pm)
I bought :-
3 pairs of Jeans
1 pair of 'going out' trousers
7 t-shirts/tops
2 jumpers/cardigans
1 coat.
2 pairs of shoes/boots
1 pair of trainers and running gear - evil
underwear and socks for everyday and 2 'spare'
Her list :-
6 pairs of jeans.
2 pairs of 'going out' jeans.
9 t-shirts
5 shirts
3 going out shirts
3 pairs of shoes
2 pillows confused
Large hairdryer with diffuser.
millions of pairs of socks
many pairs of pajamas
3 plastic bag things that she packs stuff into and squeezes the air out of. :?
ummmm another rucksack of 'essentials' (I am not allowed to see what is in that.
She has a full rucksack of hairproducts and 'things'
She forgot... two 'essential' items - her sports bra. She figured out a way around this by use of a hair bobble and a double wrapped t-shirt. and...... her travel laundry basket. She made do with using mine (a sainsbury carrier bag)
Now, what I want to know.. is this normal ? Am I with some kinda freak or do people often take vast amounts of things when they are away.. things they will never use/wear/need?
omg yes i pack lots of just in case stuff
in fact i'll take more for a weekend away than a week away i guess a week i plan more but a weekend is just chuck everythin in just in case lol
That sounds like she packed light to me redface
I always take far to many things!!
Dagda always moans that I bring far too much when I go to his... but you never know what the weather shall do!! Hence I take many alternatives lol
Well, does everyone else think that seven pairs of shoes for a 3 night trip to a posh cottage is extreme?
For a bloke. rolleyes
LOL...on clothes I always travel with the bare minimum....but its the extra just in cases that fill up my luggage
sewing kit,
medications and first aid equipment for every ailment and eventuality
string for makeshift washingline and pegs, travel wash for washing clothes in a sink
manicure set
iron
hair dryer
umbrella
fold up mac
fold away nuclear bunker
and so on and so forth....
Ummm it seems that she is garnering more support than I thought. Ahh witchy is your warlock also high maintenance ?
I lied about the two hours.... apparantly I was watching 'phase 1' and 'phase 2 and 3' will be complete in the morning when she packs for the overnight train journey and also packs the final toiletry collection. confused
does she carry it all splen, or do you have to help!
I travel as light as possible - cos I'm lazy. But I have been known to carry it to extreme (by accident) by forgetting:
a) all my underwear.
b) the shoes I need to wear to work (I mostly travel for work) leaving me trying to make scruffy trainers look like they belong to smart black trousers.
c) my coat - Berlin in November is bitter.
Thank goodness I've not done all these on the same trip.
LOL
I pack like a bloke. Which is good, because my bloke packs like 3 women. rolleyes
I'll be away for a 4 nighter soon. My list will look something like this:
Two pairs of jeans
couple of tops
2 jumpers
Ski coat
Walking boots
One (high necked) dress
One pair of going out shoes
Lingerie
A lippy
Shampoo/conditioner
Two bottles of beer
A large vice
My travelling companion have a few pairs of pants and a change of jeans. He puts my travelling light to shame.

Thankfully not. We have been known to gang up on the "effeminate" one and show him, by example how to travel light.
The "warlock" (good name) takes it to the other extreme though. Tell him he's going to a water park in October in Holland and one thing is certain- that it will rain- lots...and he doesn't bring
A) a towel and B) a coat rolleyes Thankfully I found out before we left the house and sorted it. The other thing was he only bought one pair of shoes- and binned them on day two. So there he was...in October...in Holland...barefoot.
I just wish there was a happy medium. banghead
Any amazing human being who takes more than one, but less than seven pairs of shoes on holiday...auditions will be held shortly lol

she does carry it all... until her high pitched 'breathing' gets too much to bear and I decide that we aren't going to make it to the next train in any kind of time to enjoy the destination and I will then help.

Hmmmm... I'm incapable of travelling light. The contents of my bag for a weekend away for a munch would do most people for a week. I'd write you a list but I dare say I'd just make myself look incredibly high maintenance, I'm not but I like to be prepared for every eventuality!
I always carry my own bag... but they all have wheels! :giggle:

Not going to be going through an x-ray machine at any time are you? That should prove to be interesting when they ask you to unpack ....

Sounds like she needs a bloody back support, never mind moral. :lol2:
When we did the 3 week trip this year we took 2 cases and 2 x hand luggage. At one point PKs hand luggage ended up in one of the cases. That's how much spare space was in there.
Think we tended to travel fairly light cos neither of us can be arsed carrying loads of stuff. Plus my hand luggage is a reasonable size (like an overnight bag. I'll show it to you some time ;) ) so we can get a fair amount in that. Well used to, it gets filled with my camera stuff now. Just enough for the camera and my stuff. :lol2:
So does this mean that Tallulah is left home alone? :rascal:
Can't believe you didn't take the bike.

Tallulah will be making the world tour next year...... worlass has to pass her bike test first as there is no way that I am taking her and her 'essentials' on my bike.

I recommend a VW trike conversion for Worlass. ;) ....

No gaffa tape, no leatherman, no superglue? pah...she doesn't even have this basic survival kit rolleyes
Brilliant!
They've even colour coded it for her rotflmao

I always over pack. We pay the extra luggage allowance. This yr whilst checking, in my case was 27kg redface I had to open case at check in and take 2kgs out, and put in another member of our parties case, was well embarrassing, sooooooooooo glad i left the rubber crotchless panties at home lol xxx
