What do you think of the new look

At first glance new format is ok but can it be modified so that when you do a search it puts the latest ads first and not last on the "search" program. Would save time scrolling through pages and pages of very old ads.
The blue is just samey and really quite dull to me - Looks like every standard Invision forum (even though this appears to be a phpbb) IMO.
But aside from that, the forum just looks wrong to me. Too narrow with too much going on either side. And the white spaces between post boxes doesn't help, makes it look broken up and half finished. I think the blue might be tolerable (if boring) if the white spaces were removed and the whole thing was just wider - Maybe have a little bit of code that allows users to hide and unhide the left and right blocks to allow the content (you know, the important stuff...) to stretch across more of the screen, and look less cramped.
I also have the moving text on the button problem - Are the buttons CSS by any chance? And if so, why? A normal gif works just fine...
And as a full time gutless lurker, I like to be able to search for ads in the local area to then not reply to, not have a page full of ads from all dates and locations no matter what I do!
It could be worse, it could be lime green and red on black with no Firefox functionality, but I have a feeling it could have been better by just being left alone. Maybe it's a bit of the Vista thing: "We must update, new but knackered is good, old but working is bad" ;)
it is fine for me... just need to figure out how to make it work as well at home on firefox and my home p.c. as it does at work on I.E. It will only take a couple of tweaks at home I am sure.
Ummm and for some reason I am getting loads more PM's and people viewing my profile. I worry that my user name has been put on some sort of virtual toilet door.
anyhoo..... to everyone who has been working their little socks off... especially Noel, who I am sure has been doing most of the work..
splendid
ha ha not quite. I'm just here for the women.

The profile views could be down to the fact the quote button is right next to the profile button

ummmmm that doesn't explain the PM's.... have you been putting my name on the toilet door goose ??
I'm not keen. The blue makes it look like a 1970's council building, the font is too small and there seems to be a lot of wasted space.
Each to their own.

Some good points here, Kiss we will split fetish from CD, Tv etc. The site text was all increased in pixel size with the exception of quoted text on the forum.
We are just incresing the quote size text so keep an eye out!
biggrin

remind me to send you some more " werewolf " pics for that one Dippy wink

Shurrup Dazboy lol
What's the S&M whip logo doing next to Dogging on members interests? Can we have a little car instead? or a P for parking sign? biggrin

skiddy knickers flipa
think we should change the dogging logo to a nice pic of a "werewolf"
" walk that feckin dog Dippy "
I guess I'll have to get used to it ( reluctantly evil ) and I'm sure the guys behind the scenes have been working very hard at it ( not 'IT' rolleyes )
The colour is quite cold and uninviting, the font is too small and without any kind of border, the forums look.....ermmmmm, unfinished dunno
I know that we're all resistant to change. But colour schemes are not going to stop the majority of people posting. It's growing on me I have to say. Especially since the IE7 screen split issue has been sorted
It looks lots better. I like the blue it matches my eyes.
Finding it a bit clinical to be honest. Its definitely a boys place now :upset:
Mind you I hate change and it takes me ages to get used to a new look.
DD ho hum dunno
Personally I love it :inlove:
Very funky and modern biggrin

I have to say that both Steve and I are finding it hard going at the minute... We both seem to be getting headaches after reading the forum for about 20 minutes... It's that bad for me that I haven't bothered logging in most of the day and I dont anticipate logging on tonight either sad
The text isn't very clear at all and we are having to squint to read it. That's propably why we are getting headaches dunno
funky, alot better, however, problems finding the logging in area

100% agree with this. It makes me feel vaguely queasy.

OK good point. Perhpas the wrong shade of blue can be a migraine inducer for some.
I wonder if specsavers are looking into a special discount promotion for swinging heaven members???

That could be taken the wrong way! rotflmao
er, . . . yeah . . . it's way too blue! i like pink. the alternate blue and pink was nice. pink has connotations re: sexuality and gender. some people might even be inclined to time their posts so they can get pink text on a pink background, just to reinforce the general pinkness of the whole thing! :P ;)
and the text is a bit small. in firefox anyways?
having said that . . .
so far, the navigation is familiar. my usual clicky things seem to be in the same places, and . . .
. . . and this is more important than criticism of cosmetic changes . . .
it seems bloody fast tonight? faster than usual maybe? maybe Tiscali have finally ramped up my bandwidth, i dunno, but it's working.
i can get used to blue eventually. ;) cosmetic changes don't really reach my radar these days. usability looks good. i can live with it! ;) smile

like the ads! a lot! if i hover over the search results, i get a username, and what they're looking for. saves me a lot of clicks and close window actions! :)
i likey! biggrin

neil x x x ;)

Im sorry to harp, but is there any way to make the text bigger (or even better, bigger AND darker) on my screen?

I use Firefox and there is a bit to change the text size ... under view, text size ... I'm sure IE has a similar option.
