What do you think of the new look
Ooohhh I dont know what he sang hun... His partner of 20 years had died 2 days before and she had helped him organise a petition to allow him to sing on the show as he was 64 (max age is 28)
I already use FF and I have a filter screen... I also have the resolution turned down on my screen as I find it quite bright anyway :lol2:

ok well i've given it a chance to grow on me, but, sorry guys, it just gives me a bloody head ache.
the functunality <sp> is great, and i have deffo noticed that everything seems to have got much faster, :thumbup:
but my eyes just cannot cope with the new colour scheme, sorry
I dont know if its the lack of contrast or what but after 10 minutes it just makes my eyes water and my head throb :shock: , behave at the back ffs
to try and be a little constructive, when someone posts in bold, its fine, but otherwise i really do find it painful after a while.
just my input for what its worth

I still like it - not giving me a headache. I tried all the faffing around last night.... I'm in the My Eyes Can't Take This & have a headache after 20 minutes camp still, even though I like the overall new look and am not getting the overlap and other issues people are reporting ....
but something in my head says 'hang on a minute, the problem is with the colour scheme/ brightness/ blue hue or simply text size of the site, why do I have to go altering browsers and other settings which affect my puter away from SH rather than Admin sorting something here on the site ?

Only dislike I've got is the seperation from the main thrust of the page and the surrounding user menu's and Information There's not enough distinction colour wise to act as a seperation, stuff is on a pale blue background with a white contrast to give seperation, but only really shows if the light in the users room is dark.
Me only other grumble is the number of stickies on the cafe page which now mean a scroll down, as the topics start out of range of a laptop size screen when they open, but thats nowt to do with the new format

It looks like a very cheap copy of a very cheap freebie layout that comes with free on a very cheap and nasty website builders programme thingys when you "buy" a domain name.

Or will the new layout give us more 'facilities' or site stability and stuff ?But . . . . .

If the look was changed because the site is using a different kind of software and this is the format you get, then that's quite understandalble.
If someone has spent a lot of time and money specifically getting it to look like this, then I'd think it a waste.

After reading the advice in here, I'm now viewing the site via firefox.

Think it was done to get a corporate type feel as it look very simmilar in style to the date and blog site but with different colors.
The date site is red in theme but the forum is slightly different in look to this but not a great amount and most have to make their posts in bold or colors to see them on there.

Fairs is fair I've just purchased a new lap top and it does look a hell of a lot better on this one, the font isn't as fuzzy and the white isn't as obtrusive (yes I did clear cache on the old one) but the font is still way too small. It's the only site I use where when I go to log in my cursor is bigger than the pass word box but prehaps thats just me being a tad obsesive :?

Well last night and tonight is the first time i have used it for a long spell and i have to agree on the font size issue
Also the font color on the forum index pages. This and the header bars should be navey blue like the old theme.
I also had it hooked up to a 42 inch plasma :shock: and it was still very hard to read.

so it seems that a few of us who are reguler forum users are actually going to have to spend less time here, or have headaches due to the new layout.
i also dont like the main forum page, it not so clear anymore which posts ive read etc.
