Sometimes we do wonder.
A couple wrote to us about a week ago. We wrote back to them saying we didn't think they were what we are looking for as they are both straight and we are looking for couples where the female is bi. Also they wrote their email all in capitals and we hate that, but thats by the way! LOL
Anyway, tonight we got a mail from them sent to us at about pm saying they had been let down by another couple and did we fancy meeting up with them! We replied that as we had stated previously we didn't think they were what we were looking for and in anycase didn't think it was all that flattering to be asked to step in for another couple that had cancelled on them.
Is it just us, or are we missing the point somewhere?
I reckon the bloke would have turned up, but the wife would have developed some mysterious illness in the few hours inbetween making contact and meeting you.
The point is that you're both lovely and the other couple are completely smitten with the idea of meeting you. :smitten:

Just writing an e-mail in all capital letters is enough to put some people off straight away and it would be deleted without a second thought. You were probably one of the few people that replied even if was only to say no thanks so in their minds you're probably one of the few genuine couples they have managed to make contact with.

I should think being let down at such a late stage would be very disappointing and all they've done is try to fill the void. Even though you'd already said no to them they would still regard you as one of the few genuine couples they'd managed to make contact with so hence the second e-mail.
I don't think there's any reason to feel unflattered. You originally said no to them and they respected that and made arrangements with someone else. It just didn't work out for them.
