in BDSM top would be considered the Dom while Bottom the sub,
however when just considering the bi male aspest it tends to be considered as the bottom is the reciever (as in takes the cock) and the top the giver (fucks the guy)regarding anal,

As has already been said.. in the UK/USA gay guys tend to refer to those that fuck as Top/Active and those like to get fucked as Bottom/Passive.
FYI - in my (humble!) experience most guys that say they are Top/Active take it up the bum if you give them a few sherries and don't tell their mates :evil2:
