Bird Flu confused: :?: :?:
Earlier this year it was speading across the world and going to mutate into a human form. They said millions could die. Birds were being slaughtered in their millions , they were trying to develop a vaccine.
Then all of a sudden its gone :!:

It is still a very important World Health issue, but if it does mutate into a virulent human strain we probably won't start to see evidence of that for a few years. Not much about it in the main stream news, becuase it doesn't sell papers for long. Unfortunatley reporting on it in the sensationalist way they did, means that people just dismiss it as another scare story.
Hopefully agencies around the world will manage to contain it to the bird population, and not give the virus a chance to mutate into a virulent stain (the strain that has entered the population isn't able to sucessfully transfer from human to human, but the longer it stays within the human population, or the more times the virus passes from birds to humans means there is a greater chance of a strain developing that can be passed readily between humans).

I was just wondering, in an evil sort of way, do you think we could create a panic over something? Could the members of SW start a nationwide panic over some new fear?
