Sorry babe but if it is the welfare of the fox then shooting is worse (and no i am not a hunt suporter) and where are you if you hardly see a fox, we have hundreds of them, but i work with wildlife and at nights so i see them when most people dont.
You have to remember that this is not a fox hunting ban but a hunting with dogs ban, depending on the law, if you take your dog for a walk and it chases and kills a hare you could be done.
Have to agree with xxdevil69 ban is a load of crap and from a welfare pint of view should not be banned.

i too live in the country, and have a hunt quite close to my house, and yes they have crashed my garden on a few occasions, caused untold damage, and shrugged it off when i complained, yet down the road in the next village they do drag hunting...more people go to that hunt than the real one, have more fun by the looks of it, and we dont get hunt protestors clashing...infact the protestors drink with the drag hunters, but i still remain neutral, as a lot of business stems from the hunts. confused

yeah i see you point shooting an animal probally is painfull so is ripping it to bits by a couple of dogs but i know which way i'd rather go
i dont get involved with what farmers have to do to save there livestock
a lot of the farmers round here allow their friends to use the land to hunt on .......my gripe is when they cross over onto public land and get dam angry if you say anything to them
were am i when all the foxs about probally tucked up in bed or sitting on here gassbagging
i think the goverment could have come to some agreement instaed of just slapping a ban on it all
I'm just waiting for them to ban shooting and fishing as well..... this 'nanny' state is getting ridiculous!!!
I thought "dogging" was something to do with hunting until i hit the road.
dunno bolt

agree with ya devil........................
everytime i hear what their planning next i just laugh the goverment either think the genral public is thick or need to be treated like children
They'll soon bring the hunting back in when they find all the foxes have taken to sitting in pubs and smoking!!!! rotflmao :rotflmao:

Too true
You follow my feelings exactly.
In answer to Redstilletto
I would definitely prefer to take my chances with the dogs, by the time it is being "ripped to bits" it is already dead. While a shot can kill quickly and painlessly not all shots hit there target and can injure and maim foxes that can die painfully and slowly over a period of time.
All I can say about the hunt having a go at you is that they are completely in the wrong, many do put there back up at people thinking they are antis. I do know some hunters are asses but most are nice country people.
If hunting goes many more foxes will be killed and the easiest and most common way will be to bury them in there set and gas them, hunting actually kill very few foxes.
Yes, I think I would defiantly prefer my chances with the dogs.

.

Thought it was only a crime if more than two dogs were involved? i.e this is the defination of a pack?
Could be wrong like.
Right cup of tea time i think again Mike!
