The second series of Survivors has come to an end. What kind are you.
I would try to get back to a sustainable system, while trying to preserve the skills and knowledge we need to maintain a modern life style.
I know a farm with a wind turbine. Just above a town, far enough away to be free of disease, but close enough to raid for suplies in the first year or two.
Then I would invite all the SH members I could find. Something to hold us together?
So what kind of Survivor are you?

I've never watched this prog so may be way off the mark with what you mean.
I can cook most things from scratch and, being a nurse I know about first aid, infection control and barrier nursing. wink
Oh we need you, in more ways than one. will you come and live with us, well is just me at the moment, I hope a few of my friends and wife have survived, and I would like to find them.
im a mental health nurse so would be good with keeping up morale, defuse conflict etc
im also quite organised and a good planner, have great sense of direction for those hunting trips, dont mind hard graft
also ok with first aid but a big cry baby when it comes to spiders!!! urg
so think i might just survive lol
I have a degree inmechanical engineering but little practical experience. I am a designer (of engineering things not pretty things) so I can tell you if the new structures will fail. I can also grow stuff and (perhaps as importantly) I know how to preserve food without a constant electricity supply (ie no freezer).
I am into archaeology/history so I have plenty of info on pre-electricity society and how they lived.
It's ok Trixie - I can deal with the spiders.
aw ty foxy, and you design em i will build em lol
Well, I'd be sensible enough to get hold of a Warrior AFV to go wandering round the countryside in, instead of a car !
Then, with the fellow survivors in my little band, I'd get a convey of trucks filled with food / drink /diesel load up onto a North Sea ferry and sail to Scapa Flow or somewhere like that. (Ferry has all the life support systems to keep you going for a year or two till you get established).
Me and the Harem would do very well thank you !!

Bloody hippies the lot of you! rolleyes If you think I'm falling for some kind of post-apocalyptic 'let's all work together for the greater good, and BTW have you seen our wind turbine and organic garden?' free-love type commune thing, you've got another thing coming! I know your sort! I'll put my faith in my trusty canine companion, and a ridiculous amount of firepower thanks.

N x x x ;)
A few years ago before my ex left me, we had plans drawn up for a sustainable house on our croft... I was going to have a wind turbine ( which would have given us most of power ), solar panels( for the odd days the sun shone !!) water collection system and reed bed filtering ...
I would love to be a bit self sufficant now.. but i am now living in a mids 1700's house that leeches heat!!!

I'd be a Gloria Gaynor type survivor ...
