Absolute tosh.
First it said I'm a musical thinker on a par with Mozart, which is laughable. I said I'd jump at the chance to play a musical instrument. What I meant was I'd like to play a musical instrument well, but I don't - I'm rubbish.
So I changed that answer - and only that answer - and all of a sudden I'm a spatial thinker who should be an artist, which is beyond silly, as the only thing I can draw is the curtains.
AND I'm a logical-mathematical thinker who should be a computer programmer, which is equally ludicrous as I don't know the first thing about computers.
AND I'm an existential thinker who should be a religious leader, which seems to me a fairly precarious profession for an agnostic FFS. confused
And I get all that from just changing one answer. rolleyes
Who dreams up this rubbish?
Without reading any part of this thread, I'm going to say that I'm a dirty thinker.
When I read the thread I'll post the proper answer biggrin

No, people who think IQ tests are crap are right. All your IQ tells you is how good you are at IQ tests, which is interesting from a purely academical standpoint, but when the predator is about to eat you and all you have is your wits and a rubber band, knowing that the green triangle goes inside the red circle and Mrs Postlethwaite bought 4 pints of milk on Thursday isn't going to help you out much is it? ;)
Ok so I sat , Now many forms of meditation teach us to clear our minds of unessassary thought so is it true to say a person can attain a level where they do not have to think because they already know everything by knowing nothing. or to take this another way , If you are an artist with vision, then in the present, to follow the current thinking and conforming to the ideas of the now would mean you are not creating just following others , but to not conform would put you at the cutting edge of your subject if you ignore all the current dogma. You are an interpersonal thinker or spacial thinker only because somebody has thought and is telling you but thats their mind , however if YOU think , you can do anything like invent a revolutonary new form of transport, create a work of art or discover somthing that no one has thought of because they were so busy listening to what others are telling them what to think !.
"Do not follow me for I do not lead, do not lead me for I may not follow, infact just go choose your own path ! (although I must admit I do enjoy your company right now dear readers ! )

Talking of IQ, anybody here a member of MENSA,
I think the only clever member of MENSA was whoever thought of charging $whatever for a certificate to say you are clever........

Yep, and I fell for it, so how clever was I? rolleyes
I now realise that what my IQ really means is ninety-whatever percent of the population are less likely to waste money on joining a geek club. confused
Then I got really smart and left. biggrin
Interpersonal thinkers:
* Like to think about other people, and try to understand them
* Recognise differences between individuals and appreciate that different people have different perspectives
* Make an effort to cultivate effective relationships with family, friends and colleagues
Like interpersonal thinkers, Leonardo had lots of friends and contacts, and was a popular figure at the Italian court. Other Interpersonal thinkers include
Winston Churchill, Mother Teresa, William Shakespeare
Careers which suit Interpersonal thinkers include
Politician, Psychologist, Nurse, Counsellor, Teacher
Sounds about right smile
Me - musical thinker - bollocks - tra- la- la -dee -dee- dum!
in the past i have always thought from my pants region, but the new me thinks differently
i am a lateral thinker....but i am still a sucker for a gorgeous arse!!!!
acetates
Interpersonal thinker too!
Not very scientific in my approach I knew that.......

(or reasoned for that matter rolleyes )
Well - I appear to be different to the whole lot of you again - but then hey - it kinda figures hey. I just don't like going with the crowd rolleyes lol
So I am:
an Intrapersonal thinkerIntrapersonal thinkers:
Spend a lot of time thinking about and trying to understand themselves
Reflect on their thoughts and moods, and work to improve them
You understand how your behaviour affects your relationships with others
Like intrapersonal thinkers, Leonardo worked hard to improve all aspects of himself. Other Intrapersonal thinkers include
Sigmund Freud, Gandhi, Grahame Greene
Careers which suit Intrapersonal Thinkers include
Psychologist, Teacher, Pilot, Child care worker, Explorer, Drama therapist

I'd agree with that - A LOT
and I am also
a Musical Thinker
Musical thinkers:
Tend to think in sounds, and may also think in rhythms and melodies
Are sensitive to the sounds and rhythms of words as well as their meanings.
Feel a strong connection between music and emotions
Like many musical thinkers, Leonardo loved to sing, and had a fine voice Other Musical Thinkers include
Mozart, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix
Careers which suit Musical Thinkers include
Musician, Music teacher, Sound engineer, Recording technician

Okay - so the only problem with this one is that I am tone deaf - and can't sing or play a musical instrument - although I own a bass guitar and will play the bloody thing ONE day evil
But it is otherwise VERY correct. I love music and definitely feel a connection between music and emotions. One can have a profound affect on the other. Have done since I was a kid and used to play Genesis full blast after every beating I got. (yes - I am that old that it was Genesis  .). When I got older it was Guns 'n Roses biggrin
Yip - I'd go with these smile.
Notice - nowhere in there does it say my appropriate career is IT Analyst. Which explains why I hate it and am re-training cool
And with that - I'd better get my arse to college.
Catch ya all later. Play nicely while I'm away now kiss
logically mathimatical thinker !!!
considering i am a financial manager..quite apt
apparently i'm a spatial thinker well i can live with that biggrin
I appear to be a Musical Thinker... .
~Reese! surprised
i am a liguistic and interpersonal thinker.
From what i have read of these i would say they me smile

Logical-Mathematical thinkers:
* Like to understand patterns and relationships between objects or actions
* Try to understand the world in terms of causes and effects
* Are good at thinking critically, and solving problems creatively
Other Logical-Mathematical Thinkers include Isaac Newton, Archimedes, Albert Einstein
Careers which suit Logical-Mathematical thinkers include
Physicist, Chemist, Biologist, Lawyer, Computer programmer, Engineer, Inventor
That's me confused

Slightly on-topic......
I had some excellent advanced slaes training about a year or so back, and they taught us that there are 3 types of 'sensory channels' that people relate to when going through the buying process.......
The 3 channels all relate to the way in which information is stored and remembered....
Visual - Customers who link information they receive to images and what they have seen or can imagine in their mind
Auditory - Customers who listen to information and remember what was said
Kinaesthetic - People who have to 'feel' a product, and buy depending on what emotions it may evoke...
Just thought that this may be of interest, it is great once you start understanding how it is possible to relate more closely with people once you are able to ascertain their preferred sensory channel...... It was difficult to talk to anyone for weeks afterwards without trying to weigh them up!!!!
I think its amazing the depth of the mind once you start scratching the surface of this sort of stuff.....

VAK are learning styles and used daily in the classroom

"For many years, people used IQ tests to try and determine someone’s intelligence. However, some researchers believe that IQ tests do not take into account the fact that different people might think in different ways, and have different strengths and weaknesses.
Most people would agree that Mozart was a genius - but Mozart would probably have struggled with Einstein’s theories just like the rest of us. This doesn’t mean that one man was more clever than the other – they just thought in very different ways.
Many psychologists now believe that what we call intelligence can be subdivided into different categories, all of which can all be measured independently. Different kinds of thinking are needed to solve different problems."

(I am a Linguistic and Spatial thinker by the way)
So to expand on this theory, do you think the kind of thinker you are effects your behaviour and what kind of strategies work for your day to day life going smoothly?

Is Intelligence memory, or the capacity to understand complex problems ?
An Interpersonal Thinker
A political career obviously beckons

More likely to be the latter I think: A computer has potentially unlimited memory, but I don't think many people would call it intelligent. A human, on the other hand, has the capacity to understand. I don't think a computer understands, it just responds automatically to stimuli.
Analogy: A spider can build a web that would be beyond the abilities of most humans except trained engineers. Does that make it intelligent? I don't think so, I think it's just an evolved reflex built into its memory. A spider can't understand the web - a human can.
Apparently I am a Logical-Mathematical thinker and am suited to becoming a Physicist, Chemist,Biologist,Lawyer,Computer Programmer,Engineer or an Inventor!!!
OK......having had nothing to do with any of the above in my career does this mean I've missed my vocation and sold myself short OR is it that I was actually meant to be a pole dancer from the outset?
(Hehehehehe.....I wish I was a pole dancer anyway!!)
Nope.....instead of being some sultry seductress I now sound like a Vulcan Maths tutor!!!! LOL

My results:

Like to understand patterns and relationships between objects or actions
Try to understand the world in terms of causes and effects
Are good at thinking critically, and solving problems creatively
Like Logical-Mathematical thinkers, Leonardo based his theories on evidence rather than speculation.

I once took a MENSA test and was invited to sit the full MENSA examination. Wish i had now (for my CV) but couldn't apply myself and went clubbing instead.
When i received an example examination sheet i was amazed that it wasn't at all as "High Brow" as i thought it was gonna be.
I'm an Interpersonal Thinker & a Naturalistic Thinker. lol
I have come to the conclusion I think too much about things.
Bev, can I pick your brains sometime about some teaching theories I am writing about as part of my placement.
Thanks!
I might just pick everyone's brains to find out the general opinions going. But right now I have to go and check on dinner.

Maybe I am "missing" somthing here but after doing the " test", nowhere do I see the results ie You are a .......... ! just a list of 4 types , doing the test again this time answering in the negitive, not musical, not interested in anything etc , I get 9 types !
So what am I doing wrong anyone please ?
