I was chatting to someone earlier on here and this subject came up..

I wrote the following but afterward started questioning it myself

"definition of a good friend??
well thats a good one and only you can decide that.
If your car broke down 80 miles away at 3A.M. and you needed a lift somewhere urgent  ... how many people are in your phone book that you could call and they would say "ok ill come and find you"
would that be a good friend?
O would it be someone who you say "god I've had a crap stressful day" and they say" O dear let me fuck you that should relax you"
would that be a good friend??"

so I thought i post on here and see what the others think makes a good friend. someone who listens to you, fuck buddy, are fuck buddy's and friends the same??

discuss .

I believe friendship is someone you could trust with your life but doesn't judge you always loves you for being yourself and even if you don't get chance to talk every day can always pick up from where u left off. And someone that is there when u need them the most and always makes you smile and laugh this is what I believe is true friendship 😘

I totally agree with you. A friendship doesn't have to be a next door neighbour it can be someone on the other side of the world etc. No matter what else is going on in there life, if need be they will be there, even if it's a chat on the phone, they're always have time for you. They are honest, open and as you say they don't judge you, they will support you to be a better version of yourself plus have a laugh and giggle. A smile and a sense of positivity too. xx

A “friend” is someone who has got to know and understand you, someone you trust, someone who will tell you the truth, even if that is going to hurt, but they will be totally honest with you and supportive of you. Support, trust and honesty, are the three things most vital in a true friendship!! IMHO 👍

Good friends are not an every day occurance, a proper friendship developes over time, often years. True friends are always there for you, talk to you, are right next to you, even if there has been no contact, sometimes for years, they are that person you can utterly depend on in life.

Very special relationships are worth every moment you give to them.

well said Sensi, the truth is you know a friend, you don’t talk for years but will, hold help or just listen
