On Womans Hour a few months ago they said that people with active sex lives keep their youthfull outlook and stay active and happy much longer.
Wonder what thoughts the general female population has on this hypthesis? wink
It's rubbish, why are you listening to women's hour anyway?
Explain? OK... There is no real evidence that lots of sex makes people stay youthful-looking. The experts that feature on women's hour and the like, are not always "real" experts - it's merely journalism or pop psychology, that's all. By all means listen to women's hour if you find it entertaining, just don't take it too seriously. I'm sure they do have some fact on there, but so does Corrie lol

I have this sot of academic interest in women, they are people you know, and I find the Women’s Hour programme very interesting and enlightening not to mention surprising.
It was long ago that I was working at home putting up a new plasterboard sealing while W/H was playing from the radio. You know how it is your not necessarily listening but you hear key phrases. Imagine my reaction when out of one of those mundane interviews that they seem to specialise in the words, ’multiple orgasm,’ assailed my ears. I nearly dropped my hammer and would have fallen from my stepladder had there not been a nearby wall for me to steady myself against. confused
An elderly sounding lady was explaining that some women as late as in their forties have never experienced orgasm. She further described cases she had dealt with (she was a Doctor) of women who only discovered the joys of sex in their fifties with new lovers/partners. I stopped hammering and put the kettle on to listen to the rest of that particular hour.
There are a lot of women who just need to be given a little care and patient attention to be completely fulfilled and listening to Women’s Hour would help a lot of men to understand better how to do it.
It is also worth observing that they take a great deal of interest in men and can be quite in formative in that direction.
Well, I think if you have an academic interest in a subject (whatever it may be), listening to journalistic accounts of that subject is perhaps not the best way to gain knowledge, as all these programmes want to do is increase viewers, and are not necessarily out to be absolutely accurate. That isn't to say that some of what appears on such programmes isn't accurate, of course! But hey, if you enjoy listening, carry on - I like those late night "extreme sex" programmes personally, they're not always accurate either, but they make good viewing lol
I like Jenny Murray's voice as well. She conveys a definate sexuality. You feel that if you were there with her you might get somwhere. Mabe we should start a Jenny Murry fan club.
As fo M&M it sends me to sleep. It's a little to much or not quite enough and I can never work out which.
Nothing much wrong with Radio 4 - from the annoying 'Today' to the soothing but informative jog around Britain during the Shipping Forecast it has something for everyone. As for 'experts' ... they are those with a greater and deeper knowledge of a subject than usual.
Forth, Tyne, Humber, German Bight.... ah!!!
