Hi, ok, newbie to the forum, but not to the scene...
So, by way of introduction to you all, a dilemma smile
Today, I ( on behalf of me & t'other half) replied to an appealing 'women seeking couples' advert. Got a reply back, very quickly - lots of attractive pictures in it, all looking very promising. Having gone through the formalities, y'know, ages, heights, looks, preferences and all that, everything seemed to be coming together nicely, so suggested an on-line chat on some sort of messenger software...all goes quiet. Being a generally cynical soul, did a quick google on the e-mail address, to find it apparantly belongs to some blokey. Same old story, I figured - blokey picture collecting.
So, what would you lot do in this situation? Confront the person involved? Report the ad? Just ignore the advert and advertiser in future?
What I did was send a quick e-mail to the advertiser, as the link between the e-mail address and the bloke could, just about, at a stretch, have legitimately changed hands to a woman. Wasn't confrontational at all, I thin. I'll wait and see what reply, if any, I get. And probably report the ad in a few days if no decent explanation is forthcoming.
cheery bye :)
Sounds like you made a good call... I probably would have ignored the ad... but thats rather detremental to the others who might be looking. So your idea seems the fairest way to give them a chance to defend / explain themselves and is non confrontational at the same time. smile
Good luck and sorry I dont have more advice for you!
