Re the Postman Pat thread, I thought rather than get into a minor squabble over what comedy is, I'd ask the question what or who makes us all laugh............particularly interested in a certain member on heres's opinion :-)
Stuff that has hit the spot for me on many occasions are:

programmes like little britain the fast show, tittybangbang, catherine tate, dads army, steptoe, monty python, mighty boosh and faulty towers i dont really see the funny side apart from an odd few clips
amongst others anything with sid james always makes me laugh and sometimes the silly pety arguments that go on here lol
haven't seen the name Vic Reeves mentioned here - and you know what - I don't expect to!
Just listened to 30 mins (of my life I won't get back) of him on Radio 2 and what a load of shite! If this is Humour then I've had my funny organ removed cos I'd rather skewer my NADS to a a stampeding wild boar than listen again.
I should have turned it off or re-tuned or something but I kept thinking this is supposed to be one of the countries brightest comedy talents surely it'll get funny eventually - how disappointed was I? fekking VERY!!
Giddy-up and find me a wild boar cos I can feel a skewering coming on
Laughed at lots of different stuff in the past but I still find these amusing and laugh out loud at repeats even though I know what's coming:
I like:
Shameless
Scrubs
Fawlty Towers
Blackadder
Nighty Night
Phoenix Nights/Max and Paddy
Never Mind the Buzzcocks
Fast Show
The Simpsons
The Office (UK ONLY!!!!!)
Jimmy Carr
Billy Connolly
Eddie Izzard

films with:
Jim Carrey (I know he's a one trick pony but that trick is damn good!)
Steve Martin
Carry Ons
Comedy I don't "get":
Lee Evans
Family Guy
Futurama
Ali G
Borat
Used to love Reeves and Mortimer but they've had their day and went downhill very quickly.
Was it Comic Relief a couple of years when they were absolutely dire !? What a shame.
How could I forget Shameless?
Things that raise a chuckle lol
Dads Army
Steptoe & Son
Fawlty Towers
Pinky & the Brain
Only Fools & Horses
Monty Python

Thread's going well.
biggrin
Maybe some more people should "grow" a sense of humour.
rotflmao :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Like most people on here I post for a bit of fun not to boost my own ego so 1 reply or 101 replies makes no difference to me.
Perhaps I should now say grow up as well?
Thought I'd throw in a few radio Gems
Just a Minute
Sorry I haven't a Clue
Down the LIne (pure genius)
I know few people actually listen to Radio4 but I encourage you to try the 6-30pm comedy slot. As you would expect it is a mixed bag but worth percivering with for nuggets and veins of brilliance

From your list.. that's the ones left I enjoy! lol I have a very dry sense of humour and it takes a lot in the comic world to make me laugh, I don't care much for stand up comedians, a night with one would bore me to tears.
I do find Peter Kay really funny, his humour is quite dry also.
The best laughter for me comes in real life....rolling around on the floor type of laughter when you've had a wonderful time with a sexy man (or two)who knows his onions!
Sex is the best medicine for laughter...it makes you feel happy and light-headed so that even simple things are funny. lol
HR xx

I considered it but I think it was only the first 3 series that were any good. The rest was pretty shameful.

It's from the episode "Pete II" in Season 8:
(Upon the revelation that Kryten's artificial penis, Archie, has detached itself and run away)
Kochanski: Kryten, do you realize what this means?
Kryten: No, ma'am.
Kochanski: It means you're a real man!
Kryten: It does? Why?
Kochanski: Because now, like all men, you have absolutely no control over your penis!
Kryten: (beaming) I'm so proud!!!
Kryten: My penis. It must have escaped!
Kochanski: You know, I'm really going to have to get my ears syringed -- do you know what that sounded like to me?
Kryten: I made one.
Kochanski: Forget my ears, maybe my whole brain needs syringing... You made one?
Kryten: Mmm-Hmmm! Out of an old electron board, a loo roll, some sticky-backed plastic and an Action Man's polo-neck jumper!
Dlep,
