Whats great for you in your Great Britain

What puts the Great in Great Britan.
The people, generaly good mannered, huge diveristy, different cultures.
Technical excelence. The best designers, engineers, world leaders for motorsport technical excelence. Best architects and not forgetting the Best armed forces in the world.

Sense of Humour and abilty to laugh ourselves add that with with a lot of adventure / exploration (probably because the wheather is that bad) ..you got a group of people which make us GHRRReat.!

im not taking away anything from the name Great britain, the place or the people
but i find that your post deserves the reply that for centuries, the majority of our power came from the stregnth of our Monarchy, Army, Navy , commercial and industrial networks and politicians.... and their ability to conquer and control the rest of the world not duly conquered by the Spanish, French and other Colonial powers.
As a people we have always been fiercly patriotic and i feel its sad that some seem to think that we are no-longer Great and that we now have enemies who were at one time allies.

I don't think we take ourselfs too seriously and we are one of the most tolerant countries in the world. Anyone here been to the States you'll know what I mean. :twisted:

Well were lucky in that we have traveled to many places around the world and for us we still love to come home.... its got its faults but not in anyway the same faults as some places. Great Britain.....

The thing I like about the British is our resourcefullness (although our spelling isn't great). The Heath-Robinson-tie-it-all-together-with-string- and-lateral-thinkingness.
Plus the fact that we can laugh at ourselves but be proud of who we are at the same time, a kind of vein modesty.
