What's in a name . . .

A recent thread, "Mis read usernames" prompted me to wonder how some of the names were chosen in the first place. I'm sure this must have been asked before, but I cannot recall seeing it, so I will continue by an easy example: a regular that I could almost have used myself was "Clint Northwood" who added the famous Clint Eastwood slogen "my mules doesn't like to be kicked" - havn't seen him around since I re-joined the site, but folk come and go, the other thread mentioned " " who was a prominent poster to the Forum in his day.
In the above examples the source was clear, the user was a fan of the TV/Film personality. In my own case, I very nearly used "Uncle Malc", which would have been truthful, but I elected for "Plimboy" which is also truthful - truth and integrity are very important on an adult interest site I think. By the way, don't ask me to use up more space here, it's explained on my profile for all to see.
Anyone else not using their actual name like to come forward and own up?

I chose mine because at the time of joining, I had just finished re leathered the sidecar, seat and pillion for a 1955 bumblebee, so originally nothing to do with clouds, however I'v been told being the advanced warning of a wet front coming in suits me.
(assume that is reference to my clumsiness and the spilt drinks) dunno

Actually, thinking about it, I was wrong. That isn't correct. :? :shock:
Psychosis is defined as a detachment from reality which may include, disordered thought, paranoia and hallucinations.
As Hal is a computer he acts in a logical way and it's the humans in the film that are fatally flawed. They think that Hal's faulty and try to take him off line. The subsequent actions of Hal are purely self-defence against those that are trying to 'kill' him.
Now if we return to the idea of him being psychotic (in a medical sense and not an incorrect media one) we see there's no disordered thought, paranoia (the humans are out to get him), hallucinations or any other characteristics of that state. He's actually behaving in a rational and logical manner when confronted with a given situation.
So there we go. Plus there's a 'Mod admits he's wrong!' shocker to boot. biggrin

bit boring..... but just think i am , maybe not to everybody thou. What other people see in me,well they might have there own view on it. Bit old fashioned i surpose, e.g holding doors open for people etc :smile:
