Mr CCR
Have to agree with the opening 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan. Devastatingly heavy.
There's also a scene in Titanic which is emotional from a parent point of view. When the ship is sinking and water is lapping up the corridors, there is a scene in a cabin with a mother putting her 2 young children to bed and telling them a story. She knows all is lost and is trying to make things as normal as possible.

When Izzy dies of cancer at the end of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. She has endured a pig of a husband and life has the final laugh.
Beaches makes her cry also.
Crikey, pass the man size tissues!!

I love the end scenes in 'The Truman Show'.
Lovely music score, Truman sailing his boat to what he thinks is freedom, the powers that have manipulated, abused and exploited him powerless when faced with the Human Spirit determined to break free. Wonderful stuff.
