I found an advert for a job I really fancied the other day working n an Art Gallery...
When I looked into it more it was on Tresco in the Scilly Isles.. I would have loved it! By the sea, small island, meeting new people and time off to travel round the Islands and some adventure thrown in.. six months out of my life is nothing.
As things re: family illness's are a bit of a worry at the moment, I felt I couldnt be away so long from them. Even though its not really that far, I havent pursued it as I would only worry about home and feel bad not being here.
So if you could find your dream job, what would it be and where?
I wanted to be a lighthouse keeper as a child...
alone.. etc etc
but now I would have been replaced by a robot!
<<<<whoa there!
lp
Well I've already done one of my dream jobs when i was a Cinema Manager. I have always been a film fan so the chance to see the films before release was what I was after.
The next dream job i'd like is to work for the BBFC and actually help mold the ratings systems for films.
As for Anais, I think you should go for the job on Tresco. I have visited the Isles of Scilly and would love to live there if i could find a job there that would pay the bills. It is a world apart from most places.
I think that it is good of you to consider your families needs but you have to live for yourself. In this day and age it is easy to stay in touch no matter where you go and i'm sure your family wouldn't want to the cause of you missing out on your dream Job.
I think my dream job would be something like gig review person, you know go and see all the bands you love for free, meet them for interviews etc after and get paid to write up about how good it was after, in a mag like kerrang! or something that would do me biggrin suppose down side to that would be you'd have to go see the shit bands too lol
Travel writer cool

Good call!
a wedding dress designer/maker redface surprisedops: (cant sew or draw to save me life so it really is and only ever be a dream)
or a Wedding planner - making someones big day run perfectly and making them the happiest people alive on that very day must be so fulfilling (imo)
I want to be a doulla...someone who helps women through birth and the few weeks after. I have had 4 kids and been at 4 other births so far and I love it.
Sadly i cant find a course in Bham but if anyone wants a birth partner here I am!
If it was like a real 'dream' job then a top Operatic singer such as Pavarotti. Or a writer of fiction might be nice.
Astronaught
Wana get of this planet for a while lol
I know sounds a little weird...but alaways wanted to be a War Correspondant.........love to be there adrenalin pumping on the front line, but without actually haveing to shoot anyone.
Used to love the reports Martin Bell used to do in Kosava.

I started off as a Wedding Designer which progressed into me making wedding cakes and, as I trained as a florist, bridal floristy.
I am just having a year off from Wedding Planning as it is such hard work, Tan but, as you said, totally fulfilling and wonderful.
Now dipping my toes into the world of corsetry and fetish wear..............but my dream job??
How about fluffer,
Anyway that pays me a shit load of money for doing bugger all!
rotflmao:rotflmao::rotflmao:
… or is that too obvious??????

I am doing close to doing a dream job at the moment though. I work the hours that I want when I want to do them. I'm in a office sat comfortably between the men. Sales reps come and sit at the desk just to the side of me most days and some of them are bloody gorgeous. I even had them making my tea for me today :lol2: I get buffet food 2/3 times a week with regular flirting and sex during the working day :rascal:
I love being a temp in Ians office :giggle:

It is a good call but you would be surprised at how much hard work that can be.
you can only do the job if you are single, getting in at 4am every morning writing it up, before you forget it.
good fun but takes the fun out of going to gigs if you do it too long
Oh God what a good question, and a real toughie to answer for me (mr srne).
I have a few depending on what mood im in at the time but probably a forest ranger out in the wilds somewhere!!
I'll come back to this one after a good think!! biggrin
