hi all we're going to the edinburgh mini-munch(went to glasgow last month) but we're still nervous, even though we met some lovely people in do the munch nerves go? redface
Definetly although we kept kinda quiet at the scottish munch(our first also!) we were nervous or at least I know I was although I think Mr Fruity was a little nervous too! I felt that there was no way that any one person could have made us feel any more welcome haha Thanks to all we spoke to even if just for a second.
I wont be going to the edinburg one either due to cuirrent circumstances being kinda shit ( just one of those little mishaps that takes over your life, no NOT that kind!) but definetly wanna go to other munches although I know for a fact that I will be nervous at a few more at least and probably some more after that for a while but I think thats just a lack of socialising (what heppens when youre a single parent with no job  all dontations welcome and no I dont do it for money lol )
Up till now and still at present I think swinging has got to be the best interest Ive had for a while aside from college and I can say its definetly helped me in a lot of ways in makeing me more accepting of myslef (yes I've been at the wine again!) but it has anyway for some reason and now I feel more like the person I used to be or should be now or geraing towards being and now Im gonna shut the fuck up!!
Round of applause for me shutting up please wink
We were both at glasgow munch as well and were both nervous fred more so than me but my nerves soon went when i got there as there people there were really nice. I think i said hi to you then but we never really chatted.
We are are also going to edinburgh mini munch and are looking forward to it hope to see you there perhaps we have a better chance to chat more there biggrin
Feel free to pm me if you would like to chat beforehand if this will help your nerves :D

Maybe after the 3rd pnt the nerves go. Though that's speaking from no experience at all, because the only munch i have been to (Notts) I was driving and couldn't drink.....
but nerves are normal, or maybe it's excitement....
i think i can echo everyone else... i don't think the nerves ever go, they just become easy to deal with...some of us munch vets may look like we aren't but i can tell you we are!!! it is always a case of meeting new friends and bumping into old ones....
the best way to deal with it is just to bite the bullet and talk to people, the one thing we all realise is that we were all new once and it takes a lot of guts to come to a munch, and that we have more respect for you than you probably realise.....

OOOOO, munchie munches! :bounce: Just be careful not to turn up a week early and sit in the car park! lol
I get so excited about the bigger ones I have been known to work myself up into an excited frenzy and go on and on about it to my friends on here! biggrin
It's all part of the fun.
The nerves dont ever disappear when it's a big munch, but the small social mini munches and drinks on a night out don't get me nervous at all anymore. Even the one I organsied with Lep, I was cool as a cucumber and knew it'd be a great night.
:D
Good luck and have bundles of fun! We expect a full report of how it went for you!

We always have some nerves. Its all part of the excitement of meeting people, old friends and new, same as when we go on a 'meet'. If we stop being nervous, that is the time to hang up our swinging boots.

what they said! lol the nerves are good! biggrin the big build up, the butterflies on the way there, the panic when you walk in hoping to god there's someone there you know, the swift coupla pints clinging to the bar, then relax mode kicks in, and it's all good! :D done three of the things but still get well nervous and well excited as the next one arrives. good ain't they! ;)
n x x x ;)
We have only been to one munch and I had no nerves what so ever dunno I cant speak for Steve though... Mind you I dont have a problem getting up in front of 100 people and speaking either, so perhaps it's just me :dunno:

Hi Aries,
I have been on and off the scene for the past 12yrs and the nerves never dis-appear for one reason and another.
Basically enjoy, abide by your own rules, don't do anyhting you don't want and it will get easier.......I think..lol
It also takes time to get to know people and find what your looking for..you may never..perseverance is the name of the game!
So enjoy..enjoy..enjoy!!
