When does casual interest become a genuine desire?

This is a serious question confused

How can you tell if your girlfriend is genuinely interested in a threesome and isn't just saying she is because she knows its something you would enjoy? Applies to MFM just as much as FMF
I accept that talking about it with her is the obvious thing to do but are there any other... erm, signs? I dont mean the kind Mystic Meg would come up with either.

Yes, that would be fine but im not sure that when she started saying it i hadn't already said something myself... leaving me second guessing who brought it up first, a situation that mirrors the chicken and egg question.
