Following on from a drunken conversation in the pub, and also based on a couple of threads in here - if you could live in any period of time, which would it be?
I would love to have been around in the 60's at a reasonable age eg early 20's, and live in America - Woodstock, Vietnam protests and all that. Not to mention the clothes and the drugs!!!!
Although the 50's does appeal too, those dresses, and the music!!!
So looking through rose tinted galsses (all periods in time have their problems) which era would you like to experience?
The sixties or the eighties.
France during the revolution it was sort of civilised but not overtly so.
If someone wound you up it was pistols at dawn with glasse's of wine to allow you to rise to the occasion.
This mentality beats the current trend of vandalising your car or hurling a brick through your house window.
well - going on from our name it'd have to be Classical reece or 1st century AD Rome...reckon I'd find out a few things and scupper Dan Brown's plans for a sequel!
when i was a teenager i always loved the fashion and music from the 60's,
Hmmmm interesting aint it especially after the odd Drink or ten!.
I think I would like to go back to the era of easter weekend 2006 boy what a weekend ....well to be more precise sat afternoon till the saturday night late - oh my god thanks

70's
To have been able to see the mighty SLADE at the height of their powers in concert and I'm pretty certain I once heard of a gig where Suzi Quattro supported them (OMG what a thought)
All those sexy women in those great outfits of that decade.

I loved the 70's but if I could go back in time I would love to have lived in the Elizabethan times.... I would have to have been a high born lady though... I would have hated to have been a pauper back then :lol2:
World war 2. The fighting spirit and all that.
If I had to go back in time I would be very interested to visit the Victorian/Edwardian era. The way of life, clothes, furniture etc etc interest me greatly. However I don't think I'd relish certain aspects of it i.e. no NHS and womens social standing.
In the words of Bill S. Preston, Esquire and Ted "Theodore" Logan the best time is right now and the best place to be is here!
It's totally true dudes.
