Putting aside political affiliations which politically connected figure (alive or dead) would you invite to dinner on election day because you like them and would like to talk over dinner or maybe because you fancy them and would like to.....................
Monsieur Smooth Edwina Currie and Christine Hamilton
Madame Smooth Huw Iranca-Davies and the late David Penhaligen
Maggie Thatcher and Winston Churchill.
What a fantastic night that would be. The two greatest PM's together round a dinner table.
Margaret Thatcher and Roy Hattersley. We have a very small table and I'd sit Roy directly opposite Maggie and serve something like white fish in a thick cheese sauce. Shortly into the meal I would as a question like ask "So in hindsight do you think it was a a good idea to sink the Belgrano" Then watch the sludging commence.
Possibly Tony Benn

Possibly Tony Benn

Very good choice
I'd go for Tony Benn (a hero of mine), Robert F. Kennedy, Huey P. Long (Governor of Louisiana, assassinated in 1935, not because I necessarily agree with all of his policies, but I'd love to have a really good debate with him about them), Barack Obama, Michael Portillo and (because this is fantasy-land!) I'd like Andrew Neill and Jeremy Paxman in there too.
Petra Kelly
Alexandra Kollontai
Barbara Castle
Hilary Clinton
Ethel Macdonald

ANnone want to explain why Alexandra Kollontai keeps appearing as Darksparrow?
That should be A l e x a n d r a
dunno There was a member called darksparrow but I have no clue why it changes the text.
<<<<< awaits the technically adept Mods.
I thought Jeremy Paxman was a comedian confused :? :?
Must be getting him muddled up with someone else :lol2:
Screaming Lord Such please.

Don't have much time for politicians.
I will be voting, but I'll be watching the alternative election night on Channel 4, if I can be bothered with it. I'm fed up of it all now I've made my mind up who I'm going for both nationally and locally.
It's turned into the 'turkey at Christmas syndrome'. (You know, where you eat so much turkey over the Christmas holiday that you really don't want to eat it again for another 12 months!) lol
I'd choose Shami Chakrabarti - not a party politician but a brilliant woman who is director of Liberty, and speaks up frequently in the media for our freedoms and rights, and against torture and terrorism.
Caroline lucas.
Now this notis because she shares my views ( which she does) nor because she has a brilliant mind ( which she has). It's because I would like to eat dinner off her body and then "DO" her til dawn.
This mind fetish is getting worse.

Gordon Brown ...

Yep, he would be our guest, along with Mandelson, Balls, Milipede and Harriet Harpie.
The menu would be very simple too and served at about 10:01pm - consisting only of humble pie, and very large slices at that.

Wouldn't count the chickens yet. All the polls are suggesting a hung parliament and lets not forget the party in power traditionally picks up a few polling points over the last few days. I wouldent bet on anything besides the fact I'm voting Lib dem for the first time.

Hung Parliament or Tory win even without an overall majority, Brown won't survive the Labour party in-fighting which will start on Friday.
As for voting Lib Dem..... wink
