A few nights ago, a man smashed into me, at speed while I was waiting in a queue of traffic at a roundabout.
The back of my poor car is bashed in  but I am fine. lol
While I was talking to my insurance, (2 different operators) I was asked twice if I had any pain, I said no, and each time the person said,
"Are you sure, because you're paying extra for legal cover, so if you did want to make a claim for injuries, you'd certainly be covered for it."
I felt they were surprised that I wasn't claiming.
Now friends are saying I've been foolish, and could have got a payout, and everyone does it, blah blah blah.
I don't agree with this - what do you think?
If there is a genuine claim for injuries thats fine but those that seek to pull the wool and claim injuries they dont actually have get right up my nose and only help to push up insurance premiums even more with their fraudulant claims...
Go and see your doctor.
Whiplash can take a few days to manifest itself and you may have other unexplained aches and pains. It's always best to get checked out, whether or not you see fit to make a claim.
GnV is right. Whiplash can take up to 2 weeks to appear and is then likely to stay with you for the rest of your life.
Take no chances - see your doctor and keep your options open.
.
A friend of mine had the same thing, her wiplash didn't show up for about three weeks, eventually she had to have surgery due to fused vertebra (please don't let this worry you!!!!!!)
It might be as well to get some medical advice even if you don't think you've injured yourself?
H.x
I have made a claim under similar circumstances hun. If you get aches & pains, then go & see your Doc. My whiplash came & went pretty quickly, but as I wrenched the steering with one arm to get us out of the path of oncoming traffic, I did some damage which is still there 2 1/2 years later.
It's impacted on my life as I now can't type for long, can't write for long periods....can't draw like I used to...etc etc. What at first was a minor niggle now gets me down at times. Unfortunately no-one expected the damage to last this long, and I settled too early.
The "ambulance chasers" will be pretty shocked if you don't swing the lead- they may fall of their seats & injure themselves lol
OK, well after all that advice, I think I will go to the doctor's this week.
Thanks all who have contributed
I had an ambulance chaser come see me while i was still in hospital recovering from some surgery in which a mistake happened. I told them to sod off.
Cherrytree, I'm sorry you had a bump. What a drag. I'm glad your OK though. It is a good idea to get checked out, as others have said, just to make sure.

Agree with most...go and see a Doctor and keep your options open.

Here here!
I'm in that very industry and sick to the back teeth of people doing exactly that.
Why see a doctor if you have no symptoms, he doesn't have any more of a crystal ball than you do. If you start to feel pain, then see him.
In my experience if there are no symptoms, the doc isn't going to be able to do much anyway.
Thank you to all for your kind wishes x
Hope your ok, trust your instincts and you wont go far wrong kiss
Whiplash may not make your neck ache. It can show in headaches, stiff/sore shoulders or even tingly hands. Keep an eye out for any symptom of pain, stiffness, numbness or tingling in your shoulders, arms and hands as well as persistent headaches for a couple or three weeks.
I'm sure it will all work itself out. You don't get to claim for the trouble you have to go to to make the claim, sort out the repairs, replace the car, use the bus, all those hours spent on the phone. Some people claim on 'pain and suffering' as a replacement for that.
Just a thought. Try Googling 'kyphosis' biggrin I actually suffered from this after a head-on and the £2000 compensation paid the deposit on my first house. Mind you, the headaches were a killer for about 2 months.

Please let me emphasise that I wasn't saying that Cherry had no symptoms ...
The way I read the initial post it was a question of should she make a claim even though she isnt in pain dunno
Of course she should go and get checked by a doctor and take action accordingly
