I have been watching Top Gear for a while and have heard rumours that there are in fact three The Stig's.
Does anyone know who he (or she) is???

The rumours over The Stig's identity have been flying around for a while.
There are thought to be 2 "stigs" at the moment and that is probably true as during certain speed laps the "racing lines" of the car through specific turns like "gambon" and "hammerhead" change significantly from standard F1 lines to more rally orientated lines.
The current stig's are thought to be Damon Hill which would explain the F1 lines, and stunt, rally and racing driver Ben Collins which would explain the use of dragged lines more akin to rally driving.
A guy my uncle works with went to the filming of an episode of Topgear last year and saw Damon Hill getting out of a car close to the set, and the Stig appeared on that show, coincidence maybe, but the general consensus amongst Stig theorists is that it is the two guys I mentioned above!

I wouldn't say it was rude no, but there are a lot of TopGear fans and a lot of interest in the Stig's identity, horses for courses and all that!!

At work once over a communal breakfast several colleagues and myself debated what a certain senior manager with national responsibilities actually did. Around half a dozen of us with various perspectives could not come up with anything that could account for more than 10% of a working week. Pondering on what he did for the other 90% of the week I speculated ...perhaps he's the stig!!!!
This name stuck, he even learned that he was referred to as this iconic figure :shock: ...he was delighted and thought it a cool nickname
