Well here i am watching Lee Evans lastest dvd.
The stand up routine at the o2 arena,
Well two and a half hours of great comic fun and a hilarious evenings viewing..
So he is my question for you all out
Who is your favourite stand up comic and why ?
this is a really hard question to answer..
my DVD rack is littered with loads of different types of stand up comedians.
Lee Evans has got to be up there with the best but there are so many others.. such as.
Eddie Izzard - i love his zany way of talking about a subject, then getting side track, for about 30 minutes before coming back to the original thing he was talking about.
a current favourite of mine, is a sot of newbie called Michael Mcintyre.. i bought his DVD just before xmas, after seeing him on Live at the appollo, and i was in stitches.... the "man Drawer" bit is worth listening to.
but others i could list are
Jimmy Carr,
Jack Dee,
Tommy Terrian,
dylan Moran (from Black books).
The one guy who at the Hammersmith managed to make me slide off my seat and onto the floor with my stomach cramped with laughter, my jaws locked solid and tears flooding my face.....
Mr Billy (dont vote! it only encourages the basta*ds) Connolly
check these out....
Eddie Izzard without a shadow of a doubt....he's extremely intelligent and it shines through in his humour.
Richard Pryor was a top drawer stand up too.
Ed Byrne.
I love him so much.
Peter kay, funny without having to swear.
Jim Davidson was brilliant. Also Jack Dee.
Dave Chappelle.
He would take any stand-up & destory them.
To see how good he he just go on You Tube.
The way he talks about issues such as Race, Sports, Popular Culture...
So sharp he quit to live with his Family on his Farm.
Because he just did everything he wanted.
Walked out on the chance to sign a $50million Contract.
Enjoy:
Just been giggling at Eddie Izzard over on Youtube at his Death Star Canteen skit LOL
Must admit to currently liking Michael MacIntyre, and Jeff Dunham (Achmed the Dead Terrorist).
Dave Chapelle does his take on Mtv's Cribs...
Great.
wow... okay...tough question...
if we are talking about the comedy "classics" I love Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks and George Carlin
if we are talking about the new breed, Dave Chappelle is one, Chris Rock is another, for british Comedians Dara o'brien does a really good stand up set and so does Peter Kay
If you want a comedienne that none of you will probably never have heard of... but is soo rude that she is really really funny... then check out Lisa Lampanelli
jack dee for me his dead pan humor is jus fab ...when i was young tho twas jiminy cricket all the way lol n duncan norvelle...........duncan was on at the theatre where i work a few months ago still as funny even now.
Paddy Mcguinness is not as funny in stand up as you think he might be n as for Peter Kay he sooo far up his own ass tis unbeleivable, these peeps forget who put them where they are (this theatre is not big enough for me----we was 1/2 full btw).
Am so glad no one no-one has put johnny vegas cuz he has got to be the most un-funniest man on the planet all he does is swear....omg jus remembered he back on on the 31st of this month ..oh deep joy
Billy Connoly, he tells stories not jokes and his observations are hilarious x
The late Mike Reid...
Not everyones cup of tea but certainly mine :-)
True what many said its one of those questions that get different answers on different days.
At the moment I am really enjoying Chris Rock , hes alot more complex and multilayered than he first appears whch means you can watch a routine more than once and still get more from it . He really is the nearest comparison to the genius that was Richard Pryor a title too often given to the far inferior and crass Eddie Murphy.
well for me its gorra be roy chubby brown...cracks me up lol
