who let the dogs out

i know a few people now i have two female terriers
now just over a year old
how and when do you decide to let dogs off their leads in parks etc
and be confident they will return ?
do i let both off together ? or one at a time ?

Trim the legs on the one side, they can only run in circles then, or get an English or Staffs terrier, they only run in circles anyway! (If you trim their legs make sure that you do the same side on each animal, or they will colide on each contra-rotation)

How about making sure you have some chocolate or biscuits so that they have a reason to come back to you.
I would make sure you were a long way from a road, just in case.

You could always try using one of them real long retracting leads have it unlocked just to see if the would run of or not?
If you can, find a long, narrow walkway or alley way where you can block one end.
Put the dog at one end, you go to other end. Call the dog, if it comes to you give it a treat and petting. If it does not come to you, go to it and make sure you tell it off big time, don't have to hit it to let it know its done wrong. Repeat until dog comes to you.
