Loved his show!!!
Even some piss take on Mcdonalds restaurants which were just kicking off big style over here.. called Mcburgers... with tomato sauce and mustard dispensers that looked like boobies!!!

I remember it well ..... along with The General, Cleo Rocos (mighty pair she carried around), Sid snot (remember the Snot Rap) Marcel Wave ...
:sigh: they don't make tv like that any more
Calista x (showing her age .... *cough* reruns on UK gold)
Marcel... the mime artist heheehee!!
I also remember Gizzard Puke. not too funny a character after a while but still funny...
The General with they massive shoulders...
What about the Preacher with they fucking great hands... Brotherly Love or something!! lol
Why don't they repeat the good stuff confused:
The Snot Rap
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sid: 'Allo creeps, it's Sid Snot 'ere,
With some GBH for your flamin' ear,
It's all in rhythm, it's all in rhyme,
You wonder what I'm talking about half the time,
It's a rap.
It's a load of verbals, it don't make sense,
It's all off the wall at the local gents,
You can listen if you like, I couldn't care less,
The whole thing's a sort of musical mess,
It's a rap.
(Done with taste, the best possible taste,
It's all done with taste, the best possible taste...)
Cupid: It's all done in the best possible taste! Ha-ha-ha! Oh I love it, I love it!
Cupid: Ha ha-ha-ha-ha!
I though a rap was something you wear,
You know, round your shoulders and the rest is bare?
But I love records and big hits,
Sidney get your hands off my ---
Sid: Shut up fatso, it's a rap.
Sid: Listen, slagheap, you're doing it wrong,
You gotta stay on the beat to do this song.
Cupid: Oh Sid, you know I'd love to do it.
Sid: Oh leave it out, there's nothing to it,
It's a rap.
(Done with taste, the best possible taste,
It's all done with taste, the best possible taste...)
Cupid: Sidney?
Sid: Yeah?
Cupid: How do you think this record's going?
Sid: Well, it's going round, dummy!
Cupid: That's funny, I used to go round with Burt Reynolds, ha-ha-ha!
Sid: Oh shut up, dogbreath!
Sid: You just keep talkin', you know what I mean,
About things you've done and things you've seen.
Cupid: Ho-ho! Well I've seen things big and small,
But let's not get into that at all.
Sid: It's a rap.
Sid: Look, you just make it up as you go along,
So nobody knows if you're doing it wrong,
And you can chuck in a word like "circumcision"
'Cos we ain't goin' in for Eurovision,
It's a rap.
(It's all done with taste, in the best possible taste,
It's all done with taste, in the best possible taste...)
Cupid: Well Sidney, what do you think of my record?
Sid: Your record? It's my record!
Cupid: No it isn't, it's mine. I'm the star around here. I mean what's the make-up and the hair? And the mink? And these? What do you think these are, chopped liver?
Sid: Listen toerag, let's get something straight between us.
Cupid: Oh Sideny! Tell you what, let's go back to my place. I've got soft lights, sweet music, and we can watch a video of my latest movie.
Sid: Oh yeah, what's it called? "Tone-Deaf at the Recording Studio"?
Cupid: Oh Sidney, you're only jealous. By the way, do you think we'll get on Top of the Pops?
Sid: Why not? You've been on top of everything else.

Yes indeed,
I remember Kenny Everett very well due to the fact that I, like many others grew up with his humour and his Television shows. He was of course quite unique as a entertainer having his very own style. He was openly gay when many other entertainers of the day hid or denied their sexuality. In fact I was never quite sure if he was gay or bisexual as in those days it wasn’t always wise to declare ones sexual orientation. I think he was a man before his time and when he died in 1995 I think a definite style of humour died with him. Thank you Mr FC for the web link I will take a few strolls down memory lane and enjoy listening to him again, nice one.

Isn't Kenny buried in Kensal Green Cemetery?? I seem to remember, when walking around it, that he is there. And his burial started a trend in gravestones/headstone memorials??
(could have made it up but don't think so!! redface )
and don't forget his rant at I think a Tory Conference about bombing the russians, I think he was wearing his big hands
Gilbert
I thought this was going to be a thread about Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen... sad rolleyes

Mike
I thought it was about the formerly popular beat combo and their hit single the Bump

Gilbert
thanks for sharing the link he was fantastic and i'd love to see his re-runs on the box. his shows where so far in front of the times nothing to this day comes close to his humor i was never bothered about his sexual inclanations(well i was still in school when his show was running)he was just a fantastic entertanier i used to think when he used to dress up as a french guy in a smoking jacket and a cravet those clips were so funny and was it hot gossip or legs & co as his dancers they were hot
Sorry - imho - dunno I thought he was a fantastic dj - but on tv was about as bad as the Goodies

Gilbert I thought exactly the same. What would it be next Barry Blue! The Rubettes! I think it's us that's sad Gil for remembering such stuff.
Kenny Everett was was a unique comedian. No one can copy him but I think today Bo Selecta is similar in its irreverent naughtiness using similar props such as masks that Kenny pioneered.

I've put off admitting this but sod it, here goes............
I've never seen one of Kenny Everett TV programs redface I know who he is and have seen the odd picture and maybe I'd have seen a clip.
Now I feel like I have missed out and its not fair
Dawn :silly:
Thank you Benz
Since this thread started I've had to put off posting as I couldn't remember the name for Captain Kremin - it was one of my favourite bits. The man was a genius, the whole family used to watch together. lol It never seems to get repeated though confused
Those were the days.

have three second-hand videos: Kenny Everett's Naughty Bits, More of Kenny Everett's Naughty Bits, and In the Best Possible Taste. Nothing on DVD, sadly.
Did you all see the documentary last weekend about gay comedians? He featured prominently in that. It's terrible what many of them had to go through. And we're still not living in particularly enlightened times sad
Somewhere I've got some cassette tapes of Kenny Everett radio shows. I'm sure they came from BBC Enterprises - but I've just looked on and can't find them. It's possible that they are having problems with his estate over rights to publish the material (hence the lack of reruns of the TV show?), but that's pure guesswork.
I'd love to collect some of his work in digital format. Must start asking amongst my friends, they have some great bootleg collections. I miss him. He was one of the best things to happen to radio, then the transfer to TV went mostly well too.
